that is a highly respective company pay rate and such companies do not post in forums or request sites as well doesnt seem to be legit to me
If there was competition like that I would have surely taken part. I am a Professional Graphics Designer and had worked ina press for more than 2 years
two days in and it's got over 500 entries... i don't know if i'm just jaded or too many designers are... too trusting.
I really doubt this. A company that has $5000 to throw around on a logo would just hire a real logo designer to do it.
Yes, but they are paying $500 for many top notch designs, take a look, there are many in there that are fantastic
I'm sure he won't pay $5K for a logo , I don't think he's a stupid guy . He would've definitely got the same designs if the contest prize was $500 as even thats too much for logo designers .
I think its just a fake logo contest to get visitor to their website.. I think they will announce the winner who is actually the person from their team, so they wont lose any money in the end. but it could be real though, it is hard to belive..
I hate to disappoint but I don't really find that too odd, big companies pay around $30k for web designs so why is $5k for a logo so much? If you ask me it seems reasonable if you what a very big range of designs to pick from.
it's not so much the high amount that bothers me; it's that they put that amount into an internet contest instead of a high-end design firm or something. your suggestion about getting a large number of designs to choose from does make a lot of sense to me, though. big company dangles extra-large carrot and get lots of spec work without being required to actually purchase anything. that i can understand.
in a shocking turn of events, the contest holders seem to have wired the $5,000 prize to 99designs ahead of time. so it is now a "guaranteed prizemoney" affair as the number of entries nears 2,000. looks like these guys are gonna make me eat my words.
