I can make too a good "Background" but the main thing is the LOGO, and the organizator want to see how it looks on 1 color (almost everytime) :)

Lol first of all congrats :p
and secondly: If you want to present your logo and make it look even better, you can make some background effects!
It doesn't matter if he wants it on a solid background!
You only have to do it if he asks for it...

    (That's my opinion :D)

but u missed one thing... , u can make background what u want and the logo looks very good there, yes , but organizator wont use the same background as u give him....and then he will add to his wanted background eg.: banner , header , bottle , or ect... the logo will look crappy.... dont u get it?

Lol I think you don't get it...
This is all about making money and you want it to look good!
If it looks crap after he buys it (with a solid background), that's the buyers problem then!

If you still disagree let's disgust this with pm's, we don't want to mess up this thread :D

    Dear Melting-Fire...
Appreciate your entry in my contest. It was very innovative, but did not appeal to my liking or instructions. Furthermore, with reference to your comments to a co-contestant and your approach to valuing a clients request, really amazes me. Money is not everything here mr. know-it-all melting-pot, its about building a healthy reputation. And the most important attribute in business is, 'Customer comes first', or maybe you haven't heard that before, as u maybe living in Pluto, which is no more considered a planet! And talking about 'crap', you have given that a new meaning, by claiming to be one!
    regards,
    Adnan

I know what you mean, but this discution startet because Tallum thinks he has to help everybody!
Tallum is the guy that thinks, he knows everything!

I know, what I wrote was crap but I just wanted to make tallum stop saying stuff about other designs which have got nothing to do with him!

Hope I didn't annoy anybody here to much

just shut up. Why are you giving "advises and feedbacks" to everybody if you are NOT the contest holder.
Do you think you are better than the rest of the designers ? why don't you try to do the best for YOU on your logos (they're waay far from perfect) instead of critice the other's work.

I do agree that a gradient background looks better than a solid, and you are trying to sell your logo in a way.

but i disagree how you handled it, not all about money, you should value the clients
