BEWARE

They scammed me $120 - Paypal paid and never deliver the DVD as promised.

 

These people are scammers.

They ripped me off for $120 and never delivered the database.

He went to paypal and filed a complaint, and we provided Paypal the info - including the log files that show he downloaded the files. They rejected his claim.

He is a little angry. We were not banned from Namepros - we asked to be removed because one of the moderators decided to be judge and jury. They are also friends.

Oh well.

The site is not for sale anyway - but if you want databases cheap - we are the place to buy them.

If you want a DVD - well, we apparently suck at that. Go somewhere else

 

We agreed from PMs that you will send me the DVD on December 7 as I said I don't have time to download.
After one week you said your wife send the DVD via USPS.
After 10 days you said you will send UPS with tracking number.

Flip-Flop the story. I have all the PMS and emails kept.

All I asked is either refund my money or send the DVD - you replied F*** YOU in the PM.

Very professional. I am a member from several well known forums with several hundred flawless transaction.

Be professional and conduct good business practice.
I am willing to lose $120 to bring you down.

Quit bitching! If he's got proof that you downloaded the files, then what is there to complain about?

 

It's a lie. I never download any file.

He agreed and confirmed from PMs that I only pay if he sends the DVD.

Where is the DVD after 13 days?

Paypal case is still under review - there is no rejection -

 

This is his second try at submitting a dispute. Nothing has changed - and if he is so sure he is right and he was really ripped off then PayPal will give him his money back and he wouldn't be posting his dirty laundry here.

No one hears from the 500 satisfied customers - and that is what everyone needs to consider.

The company isn't out to rip anyone off. In fact, they gave away over $2,000 worth of databases last week to DP and NamePro members. No one had to purchase anything.

When you compare the prices - other sites charge 10 times more. Other sites charge for the software - this site gives it for free.

And log files do not lie.

I'll speak up about my experiences:

(1) Carl has always been incredibly responsive to me every time I had a problem with his sites. In addition, he's also been very good in remembering to provide me what wasn't delivered and I only remember him being timely with every question or product issue.

(2) Namepros - If this is the Ron James site, then I believe he may be the same piece of trash who nailed me and dozens of others years ago, which included a dating script (phpmatchmaker I recall), a hotornot script, etc. The arrogance was unbelievable, especially after the site which he sold us these scripts (including support forums) just disappeared and he didn't respond to any emails. What REALLY incensed me was the last major update version of this script with significant bug fixes he provided to purchasers was surreptitiously ENCODED so all of us were left with a partially updated script which we had no ability to make additional fixes, modifications to a good portion of the UI, etc. After that all traces of the site and contact disappeared. I considered suing him until I decided that I had to pick my battles and I think he was in California.

I would absolutely not believe a thing I read on namepros which, from my recollection, was not exactly a place where you could have freedom of expression on ANY topic, especially when it might hit some sensitive areas that weren't out of place if posted anywhere else. It's a common practice on some web sites to selectively display what they want, others are willing to put the whole story online, even if it may reflect them negatively. IMHO namepros.com is not reliable, period.

I'm only sorry I didn't see this offer and would have taken advantage of it. I've never seen Carl ever mention DVDs.If there is fraud anywhere it wasn't in my experience with Carl, and we've never met. If you want information I have about Ron James and namepros.com as well as my horrible experience and cash down the drain, I'm glad to unarchive the info. You can probably tell my feeling towards namepros.

We ended up mailing a DVD to this person. We won the dispute with PayPal, and the main issue we had with the DVD is that it has a cost involved. We try to price our items so that they are affordable - and any additional costs will affect the price.

So, we tried to stick with the rules we set up with. 99.9% of our customers buy and download from our web site. It enables them to receive their purchases immediatly.

NamePros told us to refund the guy's money. It is not their place to say so. They didn't know the whole situation, and if they did know the facts they made a very poor judgement. I said so and was banned.

I am sure we are not only ones to get banned because they didn't like our opinions.

 

That sounds like the Ron James I know. I have heard alleged content issues at namepros. With content censorship there's only one side to the story and an unethical webmaster can make the truth look very one sided.

Perhaps it was not only that namepro was not in a position to talk but I wonder whether your unfortunate experience touches a *very* sensitive vein with the webmaster. If it's Ron James as my research back then seemed to indicate, then he can explain to the world his justification for being the quintessential "fly by night" software developer / online reseller. Sorry to hear about your experience Carl and at least there are plenty of good people here who will speak up.
