48 hours, 18,000 pages indexed

I just read the following:

"I added a Google site map, submitted the site map to Google and did nothing else. No submissions, no RSS feeds, no inbound links from high ranking sites - nothing. Within 48 hours, all 18,000 pages from this site had been indexed and traffic from Google searches started to show up."

How is that possible? Can it really be that fast? I mean if it was, all my pages would've been index weeks ago...

Ceratainly not happening that way for me. They probably just got lucky with their timing

 

yeah i think thats a bs claim... unless they already had the site crawled previously, and pages indexed/

I know that just because google crawls your site today, doesnt mean the pages are indexed today.... the site say is crawled on tuesday, then the engine may not update for a week or 2 ( not sure of exact timeframe) but just because the site gets crawled doesnt mean the crawl immediately hits the serps

 

I do heard about sitemap ... but until now I still dont know how to use it. It will be nice if any of senior here give me some guideline n tips ....

Whats more, if you use link-vault, it will automatically crawl 5000 pages which should help get your vaultage up. The people in the link-vault forums have been searching for something like this for ages, you should go over there and announce it

Maybe they won't last, but Google is sending lots of traffic at the moment.

 

thats freaking amazing, it only has 5 backlinks according to yahoo

 

im still waiting for one of my sites to show up in google

its been about a month now with a google sitemap and everything. just recently got the home page cached

 

one of my own sites jumped to 70.000 indexed pages, without google even having crawled that much sites (i checked the stats to see how much hits came from googlebot). So i guess this is a result of my great sitemap...
