    WOW 47,000 Impressions and 27 clicks

    Any idea how to increase the click count?

    Whats wrong with the ad placement?

    Or is adsense going backward?

    Yes, very low indeed, mine is 1 click/100 impressions average. But I even don't know it's good or not?

    In my own experience, good ad place is ok, but more important you should do is "never make any link looks more impressive than your ad links"!

    There is a drastic change when you select the proper colors and sizes.....even the position of you ads play a big part.......

    1. Make the ads blend in with the content of your site
    2. Avoid hype....people generally dont like being sold
    3. Relevancy and how useful the ads are play a really big part

    Standard banner is the worst, change it to rectangular size.

    A big problem is that you are pushing to an internet marketing community who know what adsense is. They dont click on the ads on purpose.

    Also, I would move your 'sponsored links' section to the top right and blend them in as well....In fact dont call them sponsored links just blend them in somewhere.

    That click through rate is very poor. You're not supposed to talk about specifics of course but that is very poor, 1 in 100 is very poor.

    Try to place your ads in the hotspots, and you might want to try to apply color randomization

    This is exceptionally low. You must make changes with position and ad type.

    Placement plays a role for sure. But if you want to understand how to increase your clickthroughs you need to understand why people visit your site and what they are looking for. If your ads match their intentions and you have your ads well placed then you will make money.

    So look at your traffic logs, keywords, entrance and exit pages.

    Most people do not understand that Adsense success is about matching ads to customer problems... miss that and your CTR's will be very low.

    Try section targeting. Emphasize related content using the following tags:

    <!-- google_ad_section_start -->

    <!-- google_ad_section_end -->

    For the unrelated content use <!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->

    Agreed.

    I think it also depends on the audience. If your website is for kids, then put alot of pictures.

    :)
