4,518 17 clicks and only earned 33 cents on other hand all of my other ads type just need 5-7 clicks and can beat that 17 click easily. Should I replace it? o_0
Well, pay ratio depends on how much advertisers pay for it. Maybe you are just unlucky and people keep clicking the low paying ads.
Noticed it too. I have never used adwords but I think advertisers can choose ad format they want to advertise on (and those they don't like). So maybe the 468*80 is not popular. Note : This conclusion can help lower adwords costs for publishier !! So we need confirmation.
O I get it now!! Since 468 is not popular so Google allows the advertiser to bid less than .10 cent. I tried adword once but for big square you can't bid under .10 cent for certain keyword for my site.
468x80 is not a format recommended by the Adsense Gurus. The big square units are generally much more successful.
Look at my site: instantz.net Only 468*80 can blend perfectly into the header. If I put a big square there, it totally gonna kill the layout. However I could replace it with a text link ads
You are right but this is too simple to be true... In fact ad formats play a role in increasing or descreasing competition betewen ads...
160 * 600 and a large rectangle and you are talking about 460 * 80? why not discuss about your other two layouts
If you want to stay with that design have you tried moving the ads to appear between posts, where the reader's eyes are focused.
but the thing is that i am using a content management system and it doesn't allow Google adsense javascript. I managed to get around it by using Iframe (put google ads in another page and just link it with script) unfortunately I don't think google allow me to do it beside the ads won't be much relevance to the content of my web since the ads is located in a blank page by itself.
Placing ads on blank iframe is not a good idea, since the TOS do not allow it. And about your site, you can use other ad formats as half-banner or a 200px wide link unit (both centered). Also, there is a horizontal scrollbar in 800x600 resolution. It's made from that ad at the top.
MEh, I really don't think size has THAT much to do with it. Noticeability does obviously, but you don't want ads killing your sites look either.
