450000+ Uniques per month. Whats my best option for ads income ?

Hey Webmaster buddies, Help me out here...

I have a website that has more than 450000 + Uniques per month with an Alexa rank below 10k. I have traffic from US, Germany, UK , Canada, India and singapore mostly. But i am not making good or steady income from anything. I need some good CPM programs or any program suited for me to make money. My site is a download site.

I have tried adsense, adbrite, adtoll, adsdaq, Widgetbucks, cpx, kontera, neverblue and clicksor.

Adsense is not a good earner for me.
Adbrite used to be good but then earnings dropped like heavy rock from Jan 08. Right now it's just a waste of space
Adtoll is a good site, but i find more success there as an advertiser than as a publisher. I am getting extremly low rates there too.
Adsdaq was a constant backup for me, but recently their fill rates are terrible.
Widgetbucks ? Don't get me going. 30k impressions and i made just about 1 dollar
cpx - Pathetic rates, similar to widgetbucks. However i started to use their popups & pop unders and that gives me around 0.80 CPM - 1 CPM
Kontera is a good income supplement, but the income it gives is quite too low and never steady
Neverblue is one of the best affiliate programs i have seen, but i just havn't found the campaign that suits my site (any help would be appreciated)
Clicksor - It gave me a good income with its pop unders and page visits but i had to take it down because it was infecting my users.

I had also applied to tribalfusion and they rejected it without any proper explanation (had they given one it would have been an useful insight to what i need to change)

So what are my options here ? Any good CPM/Pop unders or affilates campaigns that will suit my site ? (My genre is something like rapidshare)

All suggestions and tips welcome :)

CPM - BannerConnect.net (CPM is better than CPXinteractive for my site)
CPC - not too many are better than adsense. You did not mention Bidvertiser or Chitika

As far as neverblueads....there is a downloads section. Try something from there. If you have games to download, try adding "Instant Action" to those pages.

peopel seem to struggle for years with adsense and the like.

there are probably hundreds of posts here where people tell you that they were making pennies until they started to do affiliate marketing.

Just find some affiliate programs that are relevant to your site and get the banners context links etc started on ther asap

If you send me a pm for i can take a look and make some suggestions on what might work well for you.

    Hi darkknight,
There are many different programs out there, so first you should try to find out what are you looking for...
In my experience some of the most important factors are:
    -finding the right niche program
    -stable and regular payouts
    -professional and friendly customer support
    -software functionality

There is an interesting series of articles in our blog entitled "The Right PPC Affiliate Program For You" you can find it here:
    http://blog.searchanyway.com/2007/01/the_right_ppc_affiliate_progra.html

If you would have any questions feel to contact me at any time.
    Cheers!
    Bart

thedarknight, please explain me how's that that AdBrite was better for you than Adsense? It really is shocking for me. Adsense is still #1 PPC network and even if your site doesn't belong to a high paying category, you just can't make more at AdBrite than you could with Adsense.

I feel you should try cj and Amazon but if your geo is outside US then better fine tune adsense, it will give more income

01.Adbrite lose 80% ads on 2008/01, but now all ads is back ! U can try them again.
    02.Widgetbucks u only $1,cuz u all got non-U.S traffic
03.bidvertiser is best CPC on non-U.S traffic
04.CPX can 100% all country traffic ,u still need them.

MAX all ads on ur site, 1 + 3 + 4 , than will got more earn.

    Hi,

Feel free to pass me a PM with your URL and I'll be happy to take a look. You can also signup with us at www.freedomofads.com/register, unless you already have, in which case that would be poinless.

I'll interrupt my rambling to mention that we do have a great default ad system, which allows you to set a minimum CPM rate, and set another ad network, affiliate program, or any other banner as your default. This removes any risk of trying us out.

    Tim

Perhaps the problem is with the quality of traffic.

If the site is targeted for all types of visitors, it is not easily magnetizable. My free email site (more than 10 years old) does not generate any income (or very little). I have tried all kinds of stuff - like insurance, automobile, vacation, etc. but it is extremely difficult to monetize.

My thoughts exactly. I would worry more about getting better traffic rather than more traffic.

I'd take 30,000 visitors with a 20% conversion ratio per month over 450,000 visitors with a 1% conversion ratio. I know this doesn't help much, but focus on search engine traffic. If your visitors come from referrer sites, it's time to ditch them. If they don't convert, you're just wasting bandwidth.

I use to make between $30-$50 a day on 2 product related sites of about the same size (380,000 visitors average a month) :)

I combine eMiniMalls, RPU & Linx.

    go for valueclick media

I have about 170k uniques and I get about $400 - 500 from value click. its easy couple of banners etc.
    cpc and cpm
