45% of Americans don't go to college , Why do you consider yourselves well educated ? Stats are there everywhere for who wanna see it , It expresses bad Eduation system in your country unlike here in Europe , most of us go to college .

So why is this Ignorance ? Why do you keep attacking Muslims calling them ignorants when 45% of your population has never attended college , I've many Amerian friends and most of them have less education than what I've .

I'm sorry for my English , It's my second language .

I have a degree, Bill Gates dropped outta college. I must be highly superior. LOL.

I'd answer your question, but I don't get the feeling you really have one. So 45% are not college grads and somehow we're still a predominant superpower. Dang, is life unfair or what?

Maybe we slide by because notwithstanding our reputed ignorance we're looking toward the future instead of being hopelessly mired in trying to pretend it's still a couple of centuries ago and Persia is the center of enlightenment and a bonafide world power. We aren't stuck dwelling on the lost glory of centuries past. Just a guess.

I'm sorry for my sarcasm. It's my second language. :)

To be fair, not all colleges and college degrees are equal. I know people with a Masters degree I would not employ under any circumstances. I know people who never graduated high school that read a book a day. Perhaps we need a standardized testing system for adults so we can truly see how educated our adult population actually is. I've always considered our electoral choices to be somewhat of an indication of the intelligence level of our adult population and, if it is, I think we may be getting dumber, approaching European levels.

A college degree indicates compliance to me. It shows someone finished something. But that's about it. Generally speaking, the most creative minds in history have not all been highly educated.

Coming to think of it, there's this one guy who couldn't even read or write. Yet 1,400 years later 1 Billion people including "scholars" appear to mindlessly repeat what he told someone else to write.

success can't be based of education a perfect example of this is Bill Gates. Another thing I don't think people consider all Muslims ignorant it is based on how they act

Time spent in the Madrasah doesn't count as education, but I wouldn't say that 90% of the university courses I attended should be counted as educational either.

A capable human can learn more from a week with a book than from a semester in university. An incapable human... well... neither approach is going to do them a lot of good.

If the Americans are so stupid then why are the vast majority of new innovations come from USA ?

Have you actually looked at the development involved team members, its usually filled up with people such as Asians and so on mostly, so we can't give credit that all are americans by birth.
Not all are ignorant its the same reason you get innovations from here, the other reason are the funds, poor countries despite having brilliant brains can't afford on experiments, so this flies back to a group which can afford

I am not sure why 45% Americans don't go to college, may be its b'coz of their family burdens ? I ain't from America so I could possibly be guessing around ;)

even to run an top University you need funds, you can't run an industry as a bankrupted agency, you have to facilitate and give good wages to your workers to see to it, the industry is on a top run - funds are a real necessity

Well of course! America has been producing all those inventions because he had a better system, not because of any special racial characteristics of "americans by birth."

Well, if they created more inventions they would have more money. :p

As Sam Walton said "Capital isn’t scarce; vision is."

I think more often that not it's because we don't see an up side to it.

I went to three universities five times. I never did graduate. There was really no upside to it.

Well , So I can say that the 55% who get education are who making the country better , And the rest of the 45% are people who just eat , drink , make some money, go to the bathroom , have fun and sleep .

Yes the US has the best universities , but most / alot of the people teaching in those universities aren't Americans by birth , America has good economy so it "Buys" the scientists of Asia , Europe and the middle east . Anyway , I meant to ask why don't these 45% go to college comparable with developed locations in Europe or in the middle east like "Dubai" that's a low percentage for such a big country .

Actualy most people who are college drop-outs are hillbillies or couch potatos, only a few of them decide to take life in their own hands and make cash :)

Yes, but doesn't a couch potato need a couch to sit on? You'll see college education rates increase when society in the US says it must be so to get by. I know many high school grads who run very successful businesses without a college degree. I believe Glenn Beck pulls down around $32 million a year.

Let me restate what I posted earlier. Capitalism rewards innovation not education. Education can be, and often is, a tool in innovation, but is certainly not a requirement. Many here are pushing our society towards a European model, with some degree of success. The closer we get to that European model, the higher our percentage of college graduates will be, most likely at the price of lower overall success as a country. What a glorious future!

Glad to hear we have "a good economy". I think we just figured out you dont have a degree in Finance or Economics. :)

The nation has a good university system, and yes, the best and brightest of other countries often come here because the US is a land of opportunity. Many stay here rather than return to some place desperately clinging to the past. Rather than denying them opportunities because they are "not like us"... we embrace them. Despite foriegn birth they can advance based on their own merits and talents. We don't tell them they cant play because they worship the wrong god or dont have the preferred skincolor.

It's a good model for others to adopt. If your smartest people come here... maybe they're onto something.

It is true that some of our citizens choose a route that doesnt include university. There are opportunities here even for them, and many flourish. If anyone thinks all tradesmen are poor because they didnt go to school... call a plumber on a weekend. A friend is a plumber by trade, and used to take calls at midnite to do things others didnt want to touch. Today he has over 30 trucks out on jobsites and is a wealthy man.

The guy that fixes my engine doesnt know a thing about Excel spreadsheets... but neither can I change the timing belt on my truck. University is a good route, but one of many.

13 Trillion is a fictitious number. When you throw in the unfunded liabilities for social security and medicare, the number is much higher.

Much of our debt is caused by the college boys without much in the way of practical experience who we keep electing to public office.

Judging from their success at running the nation into the ground, I'd say that a college degree is a terrible measure of a person's education.
