42,000 spam comments on my blog how to clear this

    one of my old blog has 42,000 spam comments, how do i delete it without deleting entire blog, any ideas ?

    Sure, use phpmyadmin to delete the comments

    After deleting them in phpMyAdmin, be sure to use Akismet from now on.

    easiet way.
    use wp-optimize plugin. It has option to remove spam comments as well as optimize the db

    I'm agree with 87Lakers. Please, use ""Akismet"" plugin. Akisment has good ability for detect spam list.

    yes. This right to go phpmyadmin select your database then select table comments and empty (if you not a comment approve). OR Click SQL type
    (if there are comments apporved)

    after that install captcha plugin for prevent this in the future

    And if all 42k are 100% spam, I would actually just disable commenting on your blog.
