404 errors when someone post a comment to my blog! Please Help!

Discussion in 'Blogging' started by Branko Zecevic, Aug 30, 2013.

    When visitors submit comments to any of the posts on my blog
    they get redirection to 404 error page.

    On my end I can't find those comments in my WordPress dashboard
    to approve them. It seems that they are lost!

    Can somebody guide me on what to do to fix this issue!?

    Appreciate your help!

    Hey Branko,
    I had a similar problem like this. When people commented on my blog, they were being redirected to any other page or 404 page. I contacted my host provider and they checked the issue.

    It was a problem with the .htaccess file. So you can check if there is anything unusual in your .htaccess file. That might be the cause of the problem.

    @istiakrayhan Thanks for the tip!

    I've found the solution for this problem!
    There was a conflict between WP PageNavi plugin and pagination as an option activated on my WP theme.
    I just simply deactivated and uninstalled WP PageNavi and the problem was solved.

    Now, I'm having no more issues regarding this problem.
    Hope this will be helpful for anyone who are faced with such a problem.

    I've never heard of this with Wordpress before, or any blog for that matter. Sounds really wierd. But yea it makes sense that it could be a plugin conflict, those happen a lot with Wordpress. Glad you got it figured out!
