    Dear All

I have some parts of my website removed or replaced to new ones so I have the following questions.

    related to adsense

    1. Can I put a google search code in this page and tell the visitors something like "you have come to the wrong place, please search my website for what you are looking for" ....or something like that...
    2. Do these 404 pages have an impact on the ads that are displayed in the site? (because there are a few in my site!)

    not related to adsense
    1. How to make google remove them from google search?
    2. Please tell me what is the best thing to do with these 404 error pages?

    Thank you in advance,
    cheers
    prasad..

Create custom 404 error pages. From my understanding, your not meant to place any adsense code on pages with very little or no content.

yes But i did see a couple of big sites having search codes on 404 pages. Anyway...can you please tell me how to create sustom 404 pages? I mean if you can tell me the code which will redirect them to my homepage after a specified time...for example. where can i get this code?

Place this in your .htaccess and create the 404 error page.

    ErrorDocument 404 http://www.yourwebsite.com/404error.html

    Code (markup):
It's not a wise move to redirect to your homepage.

Do not place ads on error page, read the TOS carefully.

those couple of big sites might be a premium publishers, they may have a different TOS agreement with google.

don't put adsense on error page.

you can try adsense search box instead.
