Hello, I'm new here although I've been reading for awhile. I run a blog that recieves 400000 page views per month. The url is mmascraps.com, its about mixed martial arts fighting. I make on average only 500-600 dollars a month with adsense because of low paying clicks and with a couple of affiliate programs and linkworth.com I make an extra 300 dollars on top of the adsense earnings. Am I vastly underperforming with these traffic levels? I just recently got into doubleclick and I'm waiting until the end of this month to see how they performed. Any ad networks that I'm missing out on that could produce more revenue for my traffic levels? Should I go for direct ad sales? With my traffic will I make a decent amount of money with doubleclick? Any advice is greatly appreciated and I'm happy to give out any help I can.
When you have 400k traffic pm, you would easily be able to sell ads directly. Try out the buy and sell section here and the marketplace at namepros. If you find adsense unsatisfactory, you could try text link ads where I have found payment to be better provided it is a good niche
Well, You can try CPM networks. See this list Of CPM networks and I'll tell You some things about the first one on the list. They pay up to 1.80 per 1000 impressions of popups (with UK/US traffic, other countries have lower rates), so with 400,000 pageviews You could be earning up to 720$/day, and that would be 21,600$/month (with US/UK traffic). So I suggest You to try some CPM networks. They pay twice a month, by Paypal, with a minimum of 100$, which should not be a problem for Your site. If You decide You need other networks as well, then I suggest to check Tribal fusion, don't know much about them, but a lot of peoples here on DP are saying they're one of the best CPM network.
oxpaulo - your home page is too long and you have too many videos on it. There is no need in having so many videos on one page - its takes too long to load. This is a good example of a great idea but poorly implemented. You would better served by using a content management system, something lite like wordpress, creating categories, then spreading out the videos through those categories. It looks like you have categories, but a lot of the links goes back to a blogspot page???? Is this a real website or is a blogger page? A website such as yours is perfect for a forum. And I do not mean the free software like PHPBB, you need something like Vbulletin. Then you can set up donations and paid memberships through the forum software. People like forums, they like something they can add to, and post their opinion on stuff. Forums give people a place they can interact - static pages are bland. Also, there are some mods you can install on Vbulletin that will post ads in the threads. Every thread that is created could have an ad in it. Between having ads and paid memberships in the forum, over time the forum could be a great source of income. Disable ads for the paid membership group. To be honest, 400,000 page views a month is not a lot. I am hitting around 1,200,000 page views a month and I consider my site small. 1. Consider getting a real website instead of that blogger stuff. 2. Consider setting up a forum. Once you get people to register, you can send out news letters to those members that opt in. Once the news letter starts, you can sell ad space in that as well. The above post was intended for you as well.
