4000 unique visitors - Starting a forum

Hi,

I started doing marketing for my site few days back. Now i am getting 3000-5000 unique visitors daily. My site is totally based on daily entertainment.

It is my dream to have a big community forum. I never used to start it before but now it's online: http://www.dailystupids.com/forum

May i know how to attract my website audience to join the forum. It's just 2 days old and have 4 new members. Sometime i see 10-20 guests are active....

I am also posting daily to make more threads but what are the other ways to advertise it. Please only free ways because i do not have that much money to spend now

- Register fake accounts and post threads, noone will join an almost dead forum
- Create a unique skin for your vBulletin (see pm)
- Do some contests, attract users to register themselves
- Install Mods (especially the welcome hack for a better registration rate)
- Have your forum in your signature on other forums related to your forum

Its interesting to know because you have a 0 PR, none delicius bookmarks, and 110 yahoo links, its not indexed at DMOZ and its cached 41 times! Let us know.

 

Visitors from different other websites. They dump my links ...so this way traffic is going higher.

Please check the given link in my last post. They liked it so this way i receive that kind of traffic.

 

Youll need to get artificial activity going on, either with your friends or paid posters in order to entice new sign ups.

 

Can i make you friend then?

 

Make something that will attract people. Have lots of conversations and make the forum seem active and people will be willing to join.

get yourself 6-7 a/c and start posting like crazy,ask yourself with one id and reply yourself with the other,and activate auto subscribe to thread so member wil get notify in their mail and come back.

 

Your site is loading very slow for me in Europe and I have very good internet connection.

I presume you have a prominent link to your forum from your main site? Offer an incentive to posters (not just paying fake posters), such as contests, until the forum hits critical mass and will support itself.
