because people talk about your site, generate backlinks, and more people talk about it. that's just what original content does. no one will link to your site if you're just copying other people...
I agree with you fsmedia, but if he's talking about google backlinks, 400.000 is a lot. BoingBoing got "only" 111.000 and the official Google blog 20.900
plz post url mane,and how did u check for back links. using link:// .... or just " ... " the result of back links is differ in both searches.
I don't want to give out the blog url for privacy reasons. Links can be checked via the normal "link:......." command. Of the links, 3000 were from Google. I personally like using http://www.submitexpress.com/ for checking backlinks. Maybe someone can recommend their backlink checker. The point of the thread was to find out what people think are the best ways to accumulate that many links.
man wtf !!! are you telling us the url or not? "privacy reasons".. what privacy for a 400k backlinks???? damn i cant understand some of you guys.
If you are not telling us the URL of this blog can you at least tell us if it is a good blog or just a splog? I have heard about people creating lots of backlinks overnight using BlackHat SEO techniques but often Google finds out after a few days and kicks them out of their index.
I wouldn't want to post the site and have criticism of it. It wouldn't be fair to the owner. The question still remains, how does one get that many backlinks? If a blog with many backlinks is needed to answer the question, simply search for "blog" in Google, pick one, and do a backlink check on it. I did it and there are several with over 500,000 backlinks!
No offence, and i respect what your trying to do, but people will be able to give you a much better answer if they know the URL
