$40 PayPal, 72hr contest, Logo design needed for flooring company

    I need a logo for a flooring company.

    Company Name: JJ Hanes & Company Inc.
    Tagline: Est. 1874

    What they do: Install flooring in homes and businesses. All types of flooring; hardwood, carpet, vinyl, ceramic, and laminate.

    Colors: I am open to any color scheme. Just not too colorful, I want it to look professional not too playful.

    I will leave the contest open for 72 hours so that everyone can submit their entries. I will then pay the person that I think did the best job.

    Even if do not use the logo I will still pay a winner because I want to reward you for putting your time into this. I will also pay the second and third place entries a $5 consolation prize. So I will be giving out $50 total, guaranteed!

    I will be giving feedback throughout the contest when I can.

    Jester602: interesting, I like the concept.
    Jardo: I also like this idea. Is there maybe someway of showing that the different squares can represent different types of flooring (like carpet, ceramic, hardwood, and vinyl)?
    logos4all: I also like your approach but I don't think I like the look of the image. I do really like the font you used though.

    Puttu: I like the idea in the middle. However, I don't like the colors or the font for the text. Maybe change the text and try black, red, and grey colors?
    Clairseer, Jardo, and jester602: Can you also change the colors and try using black, red, and grey?
