Hey folks, Overview : I am looking for a cartoon logo / mascot for a gadget / invention website. Use your imagination to come up with a invention related character figure such as a Professor to represent the website. Colors should include green, but feel free to use other colors just as long as there is a good balance of green. Text : The letters 'IR' should be incorporated somehow - but try and make it creative - such as a test tube exploding and the letters appearing in smoke. (I'm sure you can come up with better ideas) Prize : Winner will receive $40 via PayPal, if the standard is met (which I'm sure it will be, based on my last contest's success.) Alright, I took what you said and went from there. However, I thought if we went the test tube idea or similar it would give it a more science appeal as opposed to gadgets and inventions. With that being said I decided this was what I came up with...the invention of the IR websites logo from start to finish.
Sorry folks, totally forgot about this and therefore pretty much abandoned it but I'm back on target now and ready for more entries. Deadline extended for another 5 days. Feedback Saves the day - To be honest, I don't like this concept much at all. I don't think the character represents a gadget site and looks a bit too generic for my tastes. Mike S - Much more what I'm after - though I'm not a fan of the outside cog, or the light bulb which seems a little too simple. Perhaps make better use of the actual character himself and I think you'll be on to a winner.
Nora - Doesn't really look comical enough and the text seems a little disjointed. I think it would be difficult to integrate this into a design. Feel free to submit any new ideas you may have.
Nora - Pretty good, and would actually look good as an emblem - contender for sure. Ariestoteles - Wow, that is exactly what I had in mind. Is there any possible way to make the tube on the right, look a little more like the letter 'R'. If so, that would be pretty much spot on. Would love to see other peoples take on this kind of idea but with a different character.
gomez, actually really like the direction that's heading. If you can create more detail and incorporate the letters mentioned, then I think that will look quite good.
