Looking for a new logo for optionsbuddy.com. The website is undergoing a makeover (primarily speed optimizations), and I'd like a new logo to go with it. The old one is fairly simplistic, and frankly doesn't look very nice. The current image is 800x75. The faded text in the middle of the image is not necessary. However, I don't want a whole lot of dead space in the middle. Bear in mind the search box will be overwriting the right side of the image, so don't put anything there. I'm fond of the buddy type image, but I'm not married to it. If you have another idea, feel free to submit it. The following colors are preferred: COLOR_NAVY #336699 COLOR_ORANGE #FF9933 COLOR_LIGHT_BLUE #003366 Feedback will be given to all submissions. Payment will be made via paypal only. The contest begins now and I hope to end it around December 6th. If I'm unsatisfied with the entries, I may extend the deadline or end the contest alltogether.
Here is mine I'd like to explain it. My inspiration was options and so I took the colors you choose and made the circular options around the giant circle. I took the same idea again and made a pointer buddy icon and all the edges of the pointer are pointing to some different color.
onetwentypm - thanks for the submission. Not too fond of the font or the shading in the text. I don't like the lines in the background either. I like the use of the head as the O.
rebelagent - I must be missing something. All I see is a tiny green circle with a right pointing arrow.
They're both different logo designs. lol I went with simple and representative guess you're not looking for that.
rebelagent - ok, i see it now as an attachment. Hmm... It's different. I don't believe that'll work for me, just a little too bizzare. But, thanks for trying!
Another version of my first one. Any better? Fonts/colors/background/positioning can be changed, of course.
onetwentypm - I'm not really liking this one. I don't like the background at all. The font is an improvement. I'm not a huge fan of the big orange head housing the O. Maybe a bit more creativity in this area. brainstormingin - Excellent. I really liked your work in some of the other contests.

Goal is to give option traders a research utility for locating covered call plays with a higher return on investment. Covered calls are generally recognized as a safer method of investing with options. rebelagent - can you work your submissions in the 800x75 dimensions? Your current submission looks like it will not fit. Plus, it will leave a lot of dead space in the middle.
xpressions - The image looks like a pawn. I like the O. Perhaps incorporate that into the name spelled out. The O and options looks red, can you replace with the orange color I listed? Also, can you give other submissions with the colors mixed around? ie: light blue background instead of white, orange icon instead of blue, etc... Not a bad start though.
Don't focus on the covered calls so much. The site will have a broader scope in the future and I don't want the logo to be limited to a specific option trading style.
