Contest $40 Logo Contest - May have multiple winners - 48 hours long!

Hi,

We are creating a new website called bigcheesefoodcritic.com

This website will be for restaurant reviews in Connecticut.

Requirements:

-We would like a creative logo with the words "The Big Cheese Food Critic" and an icon.

-The icon must be something related to food, for example block of cheese, a chef, etc. (be creative)

-We would like 2 different fonts for the phrase, one for "The Big Cheese" and a different one for "Food Critic" (possibly a cursive style font for "The Big Cheese")

-The logo will be on a white background

-The logo's colors are up to you, but please make them easily changeable

-Final File submission must be in Vector format (AI preferred)



Timeline & Payment

-$40 via paypal

-Contest will run for 48hrs from when this thread began (I will only extend the contest if I am awaiting a contestant's submission or revision)

-There will definitely be at least1 winner (I am very against clients reserving the right to cancel contests)

-If we don't feel that we will be able to use any logos submitted here for the website, the top 4 winners will receive $10 each instead of 1 winner receiving $40.

Hey guys, thank you for your submissions so far:

kurdboi96 - I like the idea, but there's way too much going on

Satchii - I don't think your logo sends the right message, and I don't like the icon very much

Disclude - I like the icon, I like the concept, I can see what you're trying to do with the font in "The Big Cheese", but I would prefer something simpler and easier to read.

jhaye - The icon isn't bad, but the font looks too simple and cheap

Razi3l - Very creative icon, I like the font on "The Big Cheese", but would prefer if the B didn't look so much like a 3.

kumara1234 - This looks too cartoony, this logo will go on a clean style layout so it wouldn't match

MantisArt - This is my favorite icon, very web 2.0. I like the font for food critic, but both the font for "The Big Cheese" and "Food Critic" are very playul, I would prefer if one phrase's font is playful, the other phrase's font be more uniform.

alasdose - You're winning so far! I absolutely love the way you did the phrase and the fonts you used. The icon also blends in very well with the rest of the logo, but I would prefer a different concept for the icon. Other than the icon though, this is definitely my favorite.

FYI guys, I will be using the winning logo with this wordpress template: http://demo.woothemes.com/?name=spectrum with the black & white style.

So if you want to match the template's style to inspire your logo, it can only help your chances.

Disclude it would be fair from you to the contest holder to stop using this stock photo (cheese), which is not your's and which could lead the CH to copyright issues if he choses you.

"Royalty free stock vectors" still carry copyright belonging to the owner.
First rule in Logo design is "If you didn't make it yourself - don't use it".

Any place which "sells" stock art states in their "AUP/TOS" - they cannot be used for "LOGOS".
Such as Shutterstock -> "YOU MAY NOT Use any Image (in whole or in part) as a trademark, service mark, logo, or other indication of origin, or as part thereof , or to otherwise endorse or imply the endorsement of any goods and/or services. "

Those people using clipart are breaking the law and any Contest holder who uses the images can have this happen at the very least.
1. Website taken down
2. Domain name confuscated
3. Criminal charges (Net Copyright Act)
4. Civil Charges.

MantisArt - Fantastic revision, everything looks great

donde - Not bad, but not really what I'm looking for, doesn't really match the template too well

jhaye - Very good revision, but I can't pick yours because it looks too similar to alasdose's original design

nidhi1100 - Nice concept, I think the top font looks a little too feminine to me.

alasdose - Not sure if the icon is an improvement, but I think your logo would be better suited to have no icon anyways.

DrAmA9UrL - Very nice, I like the text, not a fan of the icon.

mitcharr - Great concept, looks very clean and unique

Great work guys, you all produced some really good stuff.

I'm having a really hard time deciding between 3 particular logos, so I'm going to show them to my client and have him choose out of the 3.
