I need 5 background images for a slide show. The images will be used for a continuous slideshow on TVs at a dance club. Keep in mind the client will need to overlay text on the images, so you will want to avoid high contrast images.
The images should set a mood, but as backgrounds, they need to be somewhat subtle so they don't compete with the concert & calendar information imposed on them, but be creative! Additional information/link is below the contest rules.

    CONTEST RULES
Duration: 72 hours, or until 5 clear submissions have been selected.
Payment: For each background I will pay $8. All 5 backgrounds do not need to come from the same designer.
Format: Final art is preferred as a .psd although .jpg is OK
Final Size/Resolution: 300dpi. Ratio should be 4:3, and a minimum of 900x675. File files can be larger in that same aspect (for example 1000x750, 1200x900, etc)

All questions and submissions must be submitted through the thread. I will not take any PM-ed designs or questions. This way I don't have to repeat myself and the general contest can benefit from your talent and insight.

The club has different kinds of music on different nights. Days of the week are NOT required in the backgrounds. But if you want to include days of the week in your design (like in the examples), here's a schedule of what plays each night:

Tuesday: DJ - HipHop & Rap
Wednesday: Karaoke with a live band - audience member selects song and sings along with a live band
Thursday: 1980s Glam Rock/Heavy "party" Metal
Friday: Local live bands - mostly rock & slightly toward heavier rock music
    Saturday: 1980s Pop/Dance music

This links shows some of the current backgrounds we're using, but feel free to use your creativity. The client is looking for something fresh to replace these. Avoid using specific band photos & names in your backgrounds. Limited wording is OK if it helps with the mood of the background.

You do not to add any drink specials or dates or anything. We'll impose & update that text on a regular basis.
Text you can include if it works with your design: days of the week for the backgrounds, and/or words that are part of the design (like if you wanted to use the 80s word "rad" as part of the 80s design)
