hey guys I own a really good, generic domain name that I purchased for a lot of money (xx,xxx.xx) 2yrs ago. Its a niche website, my little baby. This site is very well designed and content driven and ranks #1 for its niche (a rather small niche that im finding out, after all aint we supposed to be developing a site that we have passion for?). but adsense only pulls in maybe $2 a day from this site. -9000 uniques a month -10-30 adsense clicks a day I was very frustrated after 2 years that my adsense earnings was very poor and never grew, I expected to make atleast $400 a month after 2yrs. anyways out of frustration and the will to find a better way to increase my adsense earnings I played around with several tactics in the form of MFA sites. I knew what I was doing was against google TOS but I wanted to experiment and see what kind of money I could bring in. well from Jan 1 to Jan 31 2007 my "One" MFA site pulled in about $1200. its was pretty much 99% click thru rates by my visitors. anyways it was just an experiment and I have taken the site down. I learned that doing things the honest way is the hard way, much more rewarding but painstakingly slow. Doing things the dishonest way tends to lower your moralle and overall personage. I recommend that MFA developers listen to your conscious and do the right thing. cheers!
will be interesting if google ban your account or not. Was it just a site with ads, or were you asking people to click ads or what did you do exactly?
I was waiting to see if google was going to ban me but so far im still alive. I guess you can agree with some peoples theory of Google laughing all the way to the bank with MFA sites. or maybe I am just too small a fish in the ocean. I didnt do anything you wouldnt find on most other MFA sites. as far as what I did doesnt matter anymore the bigger lesson I am trying to get across is to stay away from violating TOS.
Interesting. When you changed it to an MFA site did you remove the bulk of the content that was on the original site? If yes, did you notice any drop in the SERPs for your main keywords after doing so?
misunderstanding. I didnt use the generic domain name/website as the MFA website. I purchased a new domain name for $9 reg fee and made a new website for my MFA venture. I just used the 2 websites as an example of my frustrations with being an honest developer. Honest Website: -$xx,xxx.xx to buy domain name -with 60+ pages of original content, -months of programming and backend database -number 1 organic listing in all major search engines, -2 years in the making -earning me $2 a day with adsense. Dishonest MFA website: -$9 to register new domain name -couple of hours to build -earning me $40 a day with adsense. I was frustrated with my 'honest website' which I consider to be a huge project only making $2 a day. I wanted to prove that if I cheated the system I could make tons more money. I proved it and now im sharing my experience, in hopes that current cheaters will listen to the good angel and stop.
Google don't ban MFA's as long as you have quality traffic no need to take it down. 99% Ctr is perfectly fine as well, a lot of users will click a few ads at a time thinking there just part of your site. Keep the MFA up and work on making more niches go where the money is
The thing is, now that you have done this, your stats will stay on your account for the life of it and when ever or if Google checks it they will wonder why it is show high and my close or suspend your account.
I doubt that is going to happen. With what you've posted (comparing earnings and level of effort on dishonest site vs honest site), you'll just encourage them to cheat.
MFA isnt cheating the system, normally just little content and ads not many links for the user to click apart from an ad. Its been going on since adsense has been around and when have adsense ever said they dont like it? Its not cheating and its not against any TOS that google enforces.
At least you acknowledge that it's against TOS, so now we're just down to the "it's okay if you don't get caught" rationale.
Ive known for ages google don't care about MFA but if you listened to shoemoney's net income radio show where he talked with an adsense rep they just confirmed that, aslong as your traffic is good quality and the user gets what they want they don't care. Why would they care? It makes them more money. And i dont think it is against TOS but if it is they don't enforce it and its just there to cover themselves.
I disagree about it not being against their TOS, or at least their policies, but you're right, they probably do not do anything about it unless there are enough complaints about a particular site, especially complaints from advertisers.
May I ask, wont posting your results here actually encourage MFAs? Seems to me, its encouraging MFAs and not discouraging it?
Lol , this is the first time i am seeing such an example .. You are testing trying to see If Google Bans U 2) Most of my domains cost me $9 or less , so you mean i making dishonest MFA Websites
Why should advertisers complain they'll get a better CTR from the MFA site and the user is interested in there product.
99% CTR can really be problematic for you. You should take care about this. MFA sites aren't directly prohibited by adsense TOS. but ctr can cause your account being disabled. Regards
