Digg traffic doesn't convert, people show up for 2 secs, then leave. But, you will have many returning visitors and links from forums since you were on the frontpage.

Digg users are technical, and there only for the content. NOT to click on your ads.

Yeah but still... 40000 and 7 clicks? That's abysmal.

i was on the front page of Digg late last year and CTR was so low it pulled the ads..
dont worry though, all the links and long-term traffic is worth more in the long run.. i'm still getting a few hundred visits from that digg story each day, and it's almost a year old..

Normal. Social traffic is just the worst targeted audience ever.

If you study the google heatmap - google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=17954 you'll find that your ads are far too unobtrusive to get a decent CTR. ;)

If your ads were within the content you'd get a far higher (but still low) CTR.

Edit: The ads are also not in English, Spanish maybe? Your digg traffic will speak English so this will also drop the CTR. :p

ad placement must be improved if you want some clicks. it took me a while to find your ads. have at small banner on the top of the section where your posts are located.

most diggers are ads conscious, besides most of them are adsense publishers they are not for the ad clicking thingy, they visited your site for the headliners ^_^
