My site is www.hotdjgear.com and its been running for over 4 years now. But my daily visitor numbers have never really increased after the first year. I get bumps and dips but it always levels out to a pathetic number and i really don't know what im doing wrong. Im adding fresh, new relevant content every other day at the moment, i believe my SEO is good but tell me if im wrong, and i've started advertising. So why after 4 years are my numbers not increasing? Its really frustrating as i put a LOT of hard work into this and no one is seeing it.
Some of my keywords rank well, but individual posts rank badly at times. What do you mean by changing content properly?
You don't have quality backlinks. And for site like yours, social networking profiles make a big difference. You only got 44 facebook likes, that is not at all a good number.. Increase the popularity of your fan page, share your images in pinterest also.
The reason for facebook likes is because i relaunched it this week with a new proper fan page, so im already working on trying to get that to be over 1000 as quickly as possible. As for back links i have 2 problems with that 1. Google doesn't show all my back links, which is annoying as some are on very good high profile sites that ive done advertising with. 2. Im not sure the best way to go about backlinks because its either spamming comments or people wanting hundreds of dollars to place a link on their site somewhere. Any advice there?
Why do you go for paid links or spam blog comments. Here are some ethical SEO methods to get quality backlinks : 1. Forum Submission (Place signature, Always use diversify keywords in the different forums) 2. Article Submission (Create unique articles and submit it in different article directories, don't submit the same article in many directories) 3. Directory Submission (It is of less use, but still it gives you good backlinks.) 4. Blog Commenting (Comment on blogs related to your categories like dresses, shopping, apparels.. Also don't use your targeted keywords in the Username) 5. Press Release distribution. (When ever you launch a new product or new service write a unique press release and submit it in press release sites). 6. Submitting in classified ad's (Like Craiglist) And regarding your page rank, you are giving 2 external links from your site., that too they got PR more than you. So consider that. Your website design looks very simple, for a site which is totally meant for shopping must be pleasing. Do consider your design and most attractive images. Have a subscribe option so that people get to know the latest offers and new arrivals..
Is your site's page rank high? Are your chosen keywords working well? This two question must be answered before getting any explanation.
Paid links are more advertising on certain sites than paying for a link itself and i don't spam comments but thats what a lot of sites mention and seems a waste of time to me. Is there a list of article directories to submit to anywhere? Any you recommend? I've tried submitting to dmoz and other places but my sites never get added. I've tried subscribe options in the past but no one has bothered to use it. Even when i advertise in massive letters all over the site about discount coupons, people generally don't use them even though they are in plain site and easy to use. But thats another problem, at the moment i just want visitor numbers to go up instead of staying constant.
try to master on-page SEO and make some tweaks here and there and yes make sure you write unique content for your website.
Dmoz usually take 3 - 6 months to review and add your website. Also submit in yahoo directory and botw.org... Page Rank is a integer 0 - 10 assigned by google for understanding the popularity of a website. Page rank is calculated by how many do-follow links are pointing to your website, what their page ranks are?, and how many do follow backlinks are going away from your website. You give a do-follow link to these djtutor (PR 5) and trugroovez (PR 4) from your home page (PR 3). So it is very difficult to get your page rank increases. Better declare them as no-follow links (so that page rank juice won't flow) or get a do-follow back link from that site.. And Regarding Article Directories, here is the list. After looking at your website, I think that since it is a commercial website it would be better to get most out of it using PPC Ads as it is impossible to rank for those many items. You can target people based on their interest and browsing history.
Whilst it is a commercial site it also has a lot of non commerical sections and posts. They were created to help with google and to have visitors keep coming back, but so far its feeling like a waste of time as while people do read them it hasn't increased visitor numbers anywhere near enough. Do you have a google analytics installed in your site? because that will help on determining what's wrong with your website. for example Unique Visitor VS Returning Visitors, Traffic source, SERP ranking, authority and social media exposure. it's not always about the link building, sometimes you also need to consider the factor of Unique and returning visitors.
Yeah analytics is installed. Its about 70% new and 30% returning which isn't the best as i'd obviously like people to return more often. I do wonder if having a slow server has issues because of speed download times and if upgrading would make google happier.
