4 PR1 BackLinks Vs. 1 PR4 BackLink. My Question.

Discussion in 'Link Development' started by Austiner316, Aug 26, 2009.

Hi, i was wondering if i get the chance to exchange links with someone..

    What would be better?

My link in 4 websites with PR1, or my website in 1 PR4 website.

    Just my question.

    Thanks

I would definitely say 1 PR4 link. Of course, it also depends on other factors though like the placement of the link.

And also depends of what niche [if yours, it's good] are the links.

4 niche related PR1 links better than PR4 non-related site.
4PR niche site is better than anything you have said...

Most definitely, especially if you are looking to increase your own site pagerank. Perhaps the 4 sites could be better at driving more traffic to your site but in many cases if you get a good, solid link from a high pr site, your site will tend to be given the same pagerank minus 1 point. So if you get a good quality pr-4 link you have a good chance of having a pagerank 3 on the next update.

I would take the 4 PR 1 links unless the PR 4 site is an authority site. I also hope the PR 1 sites has different IPs. If the IPs are the same, take the PR 4 link.

I think the PR 4 site will help you more than the 4 PR1 sites, but content must be relative to your site.

Assuming they are all related I'd probably go with the 4 PR1s as you can vary the page/anchor in the backlink.

Also, having 4 separate domains linking to you, all on separate IPs will give you a better profile in general.

Take into consideration the number of other links you will share that PR4 with. 4 PR1s with very few other outbound links are much better than 1 PR4 with 100+ other links on it.

Totally agree with @pedigreechump6, I'd go with 4 PR1 related sites because will help you more in SERPS.

Many Many factors come into play and there is no way of knowing which one is going to be better... keep in mind how many links are on the websites also.

Assuming other factors are equal, I would personally choose the one PR4 link. Remember to check if the PR4 is on the linking page, not just the home page. PR is page rank, that is, a number assigned to each individual page.

Too many people advertise links from their "PR4 site", which doesn't exist. Each page on a website has its own PR, and the one that matters most is the PR on the page linking to you.

@Jim4767 is right about a thing, each page have its own pagerank. What matters to you the most is not even close the pagerank of the page where you have the link. The most important thing is the anchor.

Let's say that you want to rank for the keyword : "movies"

I would rather have 20 pr1 pr2 backlinks with the anchor "movies" than 1 pr6,pr7 backlink with anchor "click here".
Of course that pr6,pr7 backlink will give you some pagerank points but won't help your search engine ranks at all.

It's impossible to cut down to conclusions this way. The end result entirely depends on what you intend to achieve, Page rank improvement or SERP improvement. Another point to be looked at is the amount of outgoing backlinks on the page and the quality of those outgoing links. As for the total PR benefit, I would vouch for the 1 PR4 link anyday. However, if you are looking for SERP improvement, a lot depends on the age and SEO work done on your site. If it is a new site, you are better of going for 4 related links rather than one PR4 link to spread your work across. Same applies if you are trying to promote a deep link of an established site for a long tail keyword. However, if you are looking to build up links for the homepage of a well-established site, you are better of going with the one solitary link .

Dוue to my experience (and I've made some tests ) the PR4 link might be much useful for you comparing the 4 PR1 links.

I would take the 1 PR4 over the 4 PR1's anyday of the week, if its in the same niche then it's even better

4 PR1 link is always better than 1 Pr4 link

Main reason behind it is that PR fluctuate every month these days.So if PR4 falls to PR0 than u have no benefit. But if you have 4 Pr1 links than you have a chance for more bascklinks ans as well as PR .
