I think you'll find that it's a lot more than the Liberals that don't like Bush. In the UK it's the left wing that have supported his policies.
The brits opinion of the American president means about as much as my opinion of the Blair. I dont live there, don't know the culture or peoples nor do I have a vested interest in what happens in the UK; Just as You have none in my President. When the brits here say "we love Americans, but hate American policy" what you are really, truly saying is, you hate Americans.. cause it is Americans who vote for the people who make that policy.
That's not the case, like it or not, at the moment US foreign policy affects people worldwide. They also fit into the majority it seems
Only if the elected officials of YOUR nation allow it. Don't you (you=your citizenry) vote for your politicians? Ergo, you have elected to ally yourself with America... her peoples and her principles. This most likely is the direct result of the UK abandoning France in the Suez Canal battle and france thereby leaving the US/UK worldview and aligning with europe. should the UK have not betrayed the French there, perhaps you would view a French, USA, UK alliance more favorably.
That's complete BS, Bush's military, economic and foreign policies affect other countries no matter who their govenment is. I'm not talking from a UK perspective, I'm talking worldwide. Taking such a view shows a lack of basic understanding of globalism.
Not Bush's, AMERICANS POLICIES. We decide, We vote. our politicians are selected by us, from us. Don't like it? Kindly step off the American invented, designed and built internet (joking!!) Listen, what your saying is that you dont like American Policy, fine. But do you really think we give a damn what a brit, frenchy, russian, chinese or otherwise has to say about us? Doing the right thing is seldom popular.
I think you'll find many Americans, or after tonight the majority of Americans don't want to be associated with Bush's policies LOL, at least you've learnt one thing today You probably not, but I'm sure many Americans do. Even Bush isn't as arrogant as to think international consensus doen't count for anything
On the evening of December 6th 1941, most Americans felt we should let europe fight it's own battles... a few hours later, we decided to save your collective asses due to... persuasion from our friends from the far east. That said, we are not always right. the democrats (those whom coincidentally didn't want to help stop Hitler) in that day had a strong hold on the govt. Tell me, when Londinistan comes to fruitition, who would you rather have in the White House, Bush or Howard Dean? Who will it be when Britan (the current #1 al quaeda target) gets (God forbid) a dirty bomb in London, that comes with aid, support and ultimately.. the physical response to the islamic world? Consider this: It depends wholely and entirely on who is in the Oval Office. Doubt me? History does repeat itself. No, actually I do.. except when it comes to whom we elect as our leaders. I am an American. Not a socialist European. To me, Brits have one hell of a time electing their own officials seeing as you have absolutely no freedom of speech (dare you to go outside and say some "hate speech"), nor privacy.. as the UK is noted to be the most survielled nation on Earth. So pardon my saying, but you all have little record for me to positively base your opinion on.
Either that or a false flag operation to bring the USA into the war (see Terrorstorm for details http://www.timetowakeup.net/video/1/TerrorStorm-Delxue-High-Quality.html ) Still, the US intervention in WW2 certainly won the war for the allies, along with Hitlers choice to try and attack 2 fronts when he really should have concentrated on one. The nuking of thousands upon thousands of innocent Japs helped too.
ya know, that whole "nuking of innocent japs" thing.. irritating (japs is a racist term btw, just letting you know). Our soldiers in effect, we're innocent civilians until the Japanses attacked us on 12/7/41. Estimates for invading Japan were over 1 million dead soldiers and marines (who again, were civilians until they attacked us). I think, all told, killing 100,000 to save 1 million is acceptable. unless you think, we should have just surrendered once we got there?
I dont know.. really don't car to be honest. I say "Jap car" or whatnot all the time. Just being belligerantly PC to prove a point to AGS that all is not racism, regardless of verbage. it's intent that counts.
It could have been a lot different, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiS78PReGZg&mode=related&search=
The one thing no one looks at is the big picture in the after math of WWII. For instance, we are friends with Japan, a lot of us drive Japanese cars, and buy a lot of Japanese made consumer electronics and other goods. There's no more hatred and animosity anymore. Japan is free, and as a result their people, their economy, and the worlds economy is better as a result. That did not happen over night btw. Look at the bigger picture. The end justifies the means. 50 years from now, a lot of us will be driving Iraqi cars, probably powered by Afghan opium. Stop playing the pessimist and look at the bigger picture.
