    reg fee, but a domain is nearly always worth what you make of it.

    I guess you're right, so people would rather buy a domain like super-fast-cars.com then fastcars.com if it has more traffic?

    if fastcars.com were available, I would rather buy that and develop it until it has better traffic simply because that's easier to remember and say. Depends on your market and who you're trying to sell to.
