Um, alright. Well, thank you for that, but there's a few corrections. 1. You've got to blend in your ads with the content as well as the layout. If you shove an ad at the bottom of the page, perfectly blended, noone will click it anyway. It's got to be within the text. 2. The most time-tested ad is the 300x250 large box. It brings in the overall largest amount of clicks. 3. That's a nice tip, but don't let it get the best of you. Dont make the ads look awkward and out of place. Its better to place them in the content in the center, than somewhere in the top, awkwardly. 4. Text ads are not always best. Many have used the tactic of putting a video in the first ad place, and an image ad right beside it in the next ad place, resulting in a good amount of clicks.
Good tips, but every site is different and a set of rules that works well for one site doesn't always work for others. Therefore, start with whatever rules you want but don't be afraid to change and experiment to find what works best for YOUR site.
Gotta love your style jackburton2006, you say it like you mean it, and your sig says even more. Wish I had a mentor like you.
Thanks for these tips and follow-up posts. Definitely gives me some ideas for mixing the AdSense placement up on my blogs.
