Hey everyone, I'm seeing something today that I've never seen before - I have 4 clicks on a site that made $0.00 per click. I went to the site to check out the ads, and none of the ads that I'm seeing on my end are PSA's. Why would this happen? Is it simply a glitch in Adsense reporting that will clear itself up, or something else? Thanks in advance for any input on this. Barry
i think google is still being a little laggy with their adsense stats... mine have been the same way since friday... it usually evens itself out ( or the stats catch up) this evening. I wouldnt worry about it.. it will catchup to your stats.
Thanks guys, and sorry for posting in the wrong forums - forgot about the Reporting and Stats forum =) Barry
Also depends on whether or not the ads are showing real content or just the PSA's. You don't make a thing if people click PSA's.
my pesonal opinion is, adsense stats are not accurate... i saw the difference in page impressions..yesterday.... I put channels for all the pages of my site, my channel stats shows... 8000+ page impressions but my overview stats shows... 13000 page impressions...
I checked the site, and they are showing normal ads (not PSA's, haven't shown PSA's since I started the site in October). By the way, it is now showing 4 clicks and 1 cent earned instead of $0.00. I think there is something loopy with Adsense. Cheers! Barry
You earned 1/4 of a cent every click. O ya im not good with these terms so can someone tell me was PSA stands for? Probably know what it is if it is spelled out.
PSA = Public Service Announcement ( for example " Donate to Hurricane Rita Victims" or " Support Breast Cancer Awareness" The PSA's show when there are no ads to fill your target But I just returned from the doctor and I am showing some pretty sickening stats also... lets just hope my earnings catch up with the stats...lol LET US PRAY..lmao
Guru, I'm thinking that the stats are screwed up. For example, the 1 cent my stats show I've earned came from my DP ad, even though it hasn't been clicked on. I have one click on one site that is reporting income, and I have 4 clicks on another that aren't showing anything. I guess I'll just wait until Google puts all the marbles back in the back to figure out whats really going on Barry
PSA = Public Service Ads. (eg :- Help the hurricane people, Help Red Cross etc.). These are served if your site contains terms relating to objectionable materials. Like for example : Arms, Guns, Bombs, Rifle, xxx, Fu**, S*X, Po*n, Ra*e, etc. Even a sentence like "Guns and Roses" (which is not illegal but rather a song) will bring up PSAs. These dont earn you anything. Remove such terms and you will notice that the PSAs are replaced with Regular Ads. If you can give me the URL I can suggest you the changes to be made.
I followed the traffic that came to that site, and what pages they went to. I'm not seeing any PSA's on my end - in fact, I haven't seen a single PSA on any of my sites since quite awhile ago. Barry
I just needed to know what it stood for I already know what your talking about, and I do not need any changes on my site. But if you really want to help go to http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=42691 that thread and help me out..
Just wait until the day is over before you can see it as a huge problem, I notice when it does this the next day all of the stats are updated.
Thanks Red - thats pretty much what I thought too, but thought I would ask because I really haven't seen anything like this before.
I have seen this problem too. 3 clicks with $0.00 on one my sites. I thought I as the only one seeing this problem.
Its a couple of days later, and they are still sitting at $0.00. I guess its an anomoly that will iron itself out much later, or a mystery we'll never know the answer to. Time to call Mulder and Scully? Barry
Good, I thought it was just me being paranoid! Or maybe it is, my rates have dropped to almost 0.00 for the past day or so. Quite scary, I can tell you!
Sometimes I also get some click without any commission. Do not care about it. Increase your traffic is most important.
