when I check my backlinks with the google search term link:www.vamoosevarmint.com why do i not see more backlinks from my own web page?
Google doesnt show all the links here but you can register to google webmaster tools, there you will get to know all the links. Or simply use - http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ Hope this helps !
I use Google webmaster tools as well, but it only seems to be updated every few months. If you search Google for backlink checking tools, you will find that different tools can give you completely different numbers of links.
If you are checking with that search term in google it does not pick up the links with keywords so say if you did a comment on a blog and your keyword was "oranges" and the link is embedded there looking up link:yoururl.com in google wont pick that up. If you did a yahoo answers and put a direct link there, it may pick that up.
