How is this site able to post 4 ads? I though 3 was the limit?

The limit is written, but is not restricted. It is illegal to have more than 3, but nobody stop you from putting more than 3.

I did not know that. I figured Google would recognise 4 and only show 3.

Hmmm...how come i saw only 3 there?

Btw, heard this from a dp member that: premium adsense publisher can publish more than 3 ads but i have no idea what does it mean by "premium publisher" :p

I'm seeing 3 ad units and 1 link unit displaying currently.

However, there's a big blank space at the top of the sidebar where the site has Adsense code for a 4th ad unit.

The culprit appears to be this code in the post body:

<!--
if (!document.phpAds_used) document.phpAds_used = ',';
phpAds_random = new String (Math.random()); phpAds_random = phpAds_random.substring(2,11);

document.write ("<" + "script language='JavaScript' type='text/javascript' src='");
document.write ("http://adsrv.worldvillage.com/adjs.php?n=" + phpAds_random);
document.write ("&what=zone:18");
document.write ("&exclude=" + document.phpAds_used);
if (document.referrer)
document.write ("&referer=" + escape(document.referrer));
document.write ("'><" + "/script>");
//-->

According to the Worldvillage.com site:

If the Adsense code uses the Worldvillage publisher ID, the Adsense bot may take longer to figure out that there are too many ads on the page.

If you have at least 20 million page views or so per month, Google might invite you to become a premium publisher, which gives you more formatting options, etc.

for my opinion

I think the less amount of ads, better that 3-4 ads as maximum allow.

I attach only one or two ads in one page.
