Most amazing thing is that some new websites are not updated in this update inspite of having high quality backlinks.
Yeah Google has update PR. I got my first PR for my new website. after a lot of SEO and I was expecting for PR5 but got pr3 something is better then nothing
I have 3 new sites that now have a pr. projectjock = 4 , juco.us = 3, freelancerchat.com = 2 Hopefully I can get my other two sites ranked.
truely a weird update.... my deals site deals.shoemoney.com went from pr5 to pr0 yet my forums site forums.shoemoney.com went from 0 to a 6... wtf ?
I got a site that had 2 links on one site according to MSN and it still managed to get a PR3. WoW, PR is like free candy for people with new sites.
Google is basically reducing the value of PR. I always knew there was a possibility that they would do it, but I didn't know how. Now it makes sense. They will simply give all the new sites high PR. I have sites that are well over 1 yr old which I built links on for months and their PR has not changed. It doesn't really effect me, because I have adapted by finding other ways to make money, and I will continue to do so. I'm going to start focusing on building traffic rather than PR. Traffic is where the money is. Page rank is just a number. Come to think of it, Google is wasting their time if they are trying to destroy the text link industry by reducing the value of PR. Why? Simple. What stops people from selling "traffic" links? The way I see it, if people won't buy links for PR, they will buy it for traffic. Everything basically goes back to traffic. The banner ad industry could increase if the text link ad industry decreases.
No. It's just that it is finally dawning on certain people that THEY have been giving more importance to PR, especially public PR, than GOOGLE ever did. Which is what you should have been doing all along.
It would be interesting if someone had the know-how to determine two things about Digital Point members' websites: 1. Their page rank 2. Their daily traffic (pageloads and unique visitors) It would be illuminating to see what, if any, correlation is found.
The problem I see is that Google in essence created a commodity that can be bought, sold and traded. Now they just flooded the market with more of this commodity which will have severe negative impact on many people. I believe that by creating Page Rank and the economy that resulted they have a responsibility that they severely neglected.
My Problem with all these arguments is that if google really wanted to stop/falsify pagerank toolbar all it needs to do is set everyones site to 0, and not include the pr rank in its toolbar. Doing this should not affect real live PR as it keeps this information to itself anyway. I gave my opinion on this earlier, to cut a long story short, I just think that the Feb PR update was totally screwed, so they froze the data making it stable, then added any new data up to march the 14th, and pushed out a stable version.
i really hope google makes an announcement, cuz if things go as is...in 1 year everyone will have a PR8
I don't think it will work that way. Google may not reverse the PRs given pre next update. However, I imagine they will at least go back to normal on the next update.
It's weird, but not weird within the twilight-zone-context of this screwy update. Your forums site is showing a lot more inbounds. Via Yahoo: linkdomain: forums.shoemoney.com = 1,420 links linkdomain: deals.shoemoney.com = 5 links (only 5 showing, out of 346 estimated)
My URL shortening site, http://flingk.com, registered Jan 16 2006, went from 0 to 3 this week. Is this good?
Can I ask who here has a PR8 besides me? And please...without a domain name it's worthless to say you have one. Please list your PR8's and PR7's from this update only.
Congrats on the PR8 (I guess). I have a PR7 from this update and one from before that did not change. No PR8, though. www.arcadeforce.com is the PR7 from this update.
