IF you have at least 12 domains to Register new or transfer, here is a great way to save big bucks.

The total # of domains has to be 12 in order to take full advantage of the price. I know many of us here are owners of hundreds and this can save a ton of $$ particulalry when renewal time you can just transfer them or if you are registering a bunch of new ones.

I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THIS WILL LAST, BUT IT IS WORKING AS OF TODAY!!!!!

    How to do it:
    Click on this link: http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/websitetonight/wst_domain.asp?isc=tebfree02

Select the "12 mos. for just $3.96/mo" WebSite Tonight subscription.

Type in the domain you'd like to register/transfer, hit the "GO" button on the right.

Click throught until you get to your shopping cart. Now, before you check out, click on the "Keep Shopping" and keep adding the names you either want to renew or register to your shopping cart until you reach 12. When you get done, go to your shopping cart.
That's it, you will notice that the price for the domains will be either .25 cents or 0.00 and the price for the WebSite Tonight Economy - 5 Page Web Site will be $47.52.

I just did it and it came to a total of $49.52 as follows:

    - 4 .us domains transferred at 0 ea = 0.00
    - 3 .biz domains transferred at .25 ea = 0.75
    - 1 .com new reg at .25 = 0.25
    - 1 . net new reg at .25 = 0.25
    - 3 .info transferred at .25 ea = 0.75
    - website tonight (12 mos) at 47.52

    Total for 12 domains + website tonight = $49.52

That is only $4.13 per domain!!

Sign up to their reseller plan if you have enough domains, saves me a decent amount of money.

You know to be honest I don't remember which one I have :)) they recently changed the levels and names, etc. I believe the package I got was the 2nd or the top one, I have the full wrights with the exception of making my own custom content which I did not want anyways.

For a generic version incase you're wondering what they look like
    https://www.securepaynet.net/gdshop/rhp/default.asp?prog_id=hrblcantra2

Guess it all depends on what you're going to use, how many domains, etc as I believe the upper packages do give a little less $ per domain name.

You can find better 'quick' deals out there, I simply like having a pretty low price at all times.

you can do the thing mentioned above with 1 domain. just add the domain as described above and then reduce the number of months hosting to one (or as many domains as you register). Sorted :D

But it doesn't work on renewals correct, their promo for buy a non domain product get the domain cheaper. Why I go the simple route, no fng around :)

Should have stated on renewals a year from now, but who knows they may still be running it.

What are your experiences with godaddy, is it a good host? What kind of ranking does it have compared to other hosting companies?

Would it be a good idea to buy my hosting package from godaddy because i am from The Netherlands.

Their hosting packages look very good regarding the bandwith space you can get with them...far more then what you get in The Netherlands with the hosting companies.

Is it strange to have a hosting company from another country you live in? Does this cause any problems?

My english is not so bad, so i guess communication wouldn't be a big issue.

I do have one site hosted with godaddy, not the greatest but not horrible. If you're only hosting one site you might want to go with them, if you're hosting multiples much better to either A have a reseller account elsewhere or B have your own dedicated server.

As far as having a host in a different country the only thing I can think of is following that countries laws and possibility of connection failures being greater from further distance to travel, more servers having to go through, etc.

I personally recommend http://www.pro-net-hosting.com/ for a simple reseller plan, believe it is $10 a month and you can host many, many sites on it. I've had and still have lots of reseller accounts. Others cost me more, but this host has had the least downtime and best support out of the bunch :)

And what do think of their service? Are you experincing any down time?

That makes sense offcourse, my future site would be intended for a international audience so it all depends from which country the connection is coming from and where the problem occurs. I have no problem what so ever connecting to international sites, i'm a lot on int. sites and i'm from the Netherlands.

But is godaddy connected to a reliable backbone* (* i believe they call it that) if so...then it's a good connection.

Hmm, interesting. Could you tell me some more about reseller plans because if i am going to host multiple sites in the future this sounds very good and cost effective. How does this kind of hosting works?

I honestly don't know anything about godaddy's connections, sure you could do some research. As far as downtime goes the 1 site I host with them I honestly don't check, I know my stats for instance didn't work for almost 2 months after I bought an ssl cert for the site and static IP.

As far as reseller goes, in most instances it allows you to easily add as many domains as you wish. As long as you have the bandwidth needed and space you could host 100 or more sites on a $10 account if you wanted to. This of course is as long as the sites don't use up to much space or bandwidth.

It is also highly suggested for primary sites to add on static ips for those as well.

I personally break my sites up, helps it se positioning and incase one host goes down not all of my sites are down.

Reseller accounts such as the one I recommened also give you whm which makes managing and adding your domain accounts extremely simple and cpanel with auto install setup of many scripts including blogs, message boards, etc, much better stats than godaddy's free stats, etc. Superior redirects than godaddy's free service, unlimited e-mails in most cases, mysql databases and the list goes on.

The net backbone is important but you also want to make sure the host is running good equipment and not overloaded as well. The account I have with pro-net I believe is on a dual xeon 2.4 and in most cases is the fastest server i've experienced with a reseller plan :)

It appears I have the pro which I believe came with another package as well, while trying to figure out which one I had I also noticed I can save you $20 on the pro if you want to. Godaddy has it for $199 the package I got allows me to set a price for these as well, although I've never used it.

    If interested https://256953.hottestreseller.com

Not listing this info to sell a service only to save you a few bucks :)

Thanks for your offer my friend but pro is a little bit to much for my needs of my future set up for my site. I do really appreciate your offer:cool:

I have browsed the site of godaddy and must say i am convinced to get my site hosted there when ready, they sure look like they are on top of things...as it should be.

Thanks for your information about the reselling accounts, if i was ever going to decide to take this step i hope you can give some assistance or advice on this subject?

GoDaddy's Website Tonight program may be cheap but it produces sites that not only don't validate. I know someone who built a site with that program and it can't even be indexed by search engines due to several serious problems in the code. And this doesn't count the visual display being all messed up unless viewed at 800x600. How many people still have a 15 inch screen? None of the major search engines indexed the page either even though the person purchased the submission plan. What good does it do to get a website with only a few bucks if it can't be seen?

You get what you pay for.

    ??? What r u talking about ???
Buying a domain name has nothing to do with producing sites that dont validate (?what do u mean by validate?) and get indexed.

You are only paying the money for the domain, not hosting.
So, it has nothing to do with hosting. Im very confused about the screen size thing. It has nothing to do with this topic. You can design it anyway you like, pal.
