3D website

I'd like to show you what I've been working on. It's something between a website and a virtual world and it uses a game engine to display the content.

I have been trying to find ways to get rid of the standard one-page-at-a-time website designs. So first I made a setup with various webpages ordered and displayed in a 3D space, where the user can manouvre freely. Have a look at http://www.3deality.com/home.html

But this was still a website where people just visit, look something up, and disappear. Wouldn't it be much cooler if website visitors could actually see each other and communicate? Also, imagine a company with a receptionist. The receptionist welcomes visitors, answers calls and answers emails, but he doesn't have any notion of the hundreds of people that visited the company's website. With Unity, he could welcome people, answer questions, help them find their way.

Well that's the theory. I don't know if it will really work that way. If not, I have had a great time developing it.

The multiuser website can be found here: http://www.3deality.com/home_gallery.html

Very curious to hear your comments
