3d studio max is MUCH more powerful than blender. If you are serious about getting into 3d, max is the way to go. Blender is one of those kinds of programs that's fun to mess around with, but max (or maya) is a must to know.

I always felt that MAYA was better than both of those, but to each their own, we all have a different opinion :)

I prefer Blender because its free.. once you know how to make 3d I think you can apply those techniques to every program :)

    Here's a film made by blender http://youtube.com/watch?v=YE7VzlLtp-4

All of these tools offer almost the same thing but it depends on how well you can use that program and what you can do with it, the tool is nothing without your part. I only use Blender currently and I love it.... Infact some tools are combined together to create great art! I would use all the tools together for the better features in both....

Oh, I agree - MAYA is probably better than Max. But if the OP was asking about blender, chances are that he/she would never use 1/16 of what Maya has to offer. :D

    I going for Maya

    autodesk.com Maya

it's way better than 3d studio max

plus since Maya and 3d studio max all bought out by autodesk

you could interchange the project between 3d max and maya

but I recommend Maya it's better look, easier to use, and great popularities, and it's professional
