    What sounds more profitable ?

    A 1 time payment of $35,
    OR
60 % recurring. (This doesnt include the original sign up, also you dont get $ if they only join for 1 month.

I personally use a combo of both, and to be honest its hard to distinguish the diff in profits, the recurring makes me feel warm and fuzzy, but as i mentioned, you dont get any money if they join for just 1 month.

Anyone had any experience in this field ?

I've also always chosen a combination of the both, but only providing that the revenue from each is at a similar level.

If recurring makes you more money, I'd do 100% of that.

It all depends on how reliant you are on that affiliate for your monthly income, and the reliability of your traffic source as to how much you'd opt for the recurring option, should it make you less money.

If you get 60% for service that people like to return then shure thake 60%. Because if you get 10 people every month and 50% of them return you will have 15x60% 2nd month, 20x60% for 3th month,... But if this is service that users wont return for more then 3 (if membership is 10$) months then take 35$. Do the math. Ask around other wm how many times ther users return.

I'm a fan of the recurring, but whatever's more profitable.

Adult programs use recurrent payments a lot. Recurrent can be more profitable but it all depends on the merchant and their retention rate and average customer "life". It is probably worthwhile to test recurrent revenue model for a month or two and see how many customers renew for the second month. Few programs can retain customers for longer than 3-6 months on average so take that in consideration.

I used to promote poker and took the recurring option. Stopped promoting mid last year and still making money from it.
