Looks like there's going to be google and google history now: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15590285
Well if that data is right and Panda only affected 12% of searches, DP might have a shitstorm when 35% gets changed by Caffeine. It will probably test the self-proclaimed "seo experts" that run rampant around here. We'll get to see who is the real experts are, and the talkers--ones don't actually understand the SERPs and algorithms. I am curious to see the changes made to some popular keywords like "cruises" or the medical field, but I have a feeling that all of the people flailing around trying to strike it rich with tech news might have a big wake up call once Caffeine rolls out. Also, 'Caffeine' is too long to type compared to 'Panda' and I fear for all of the "cafine, cfaeen, cafne" that my eyes will be exposed to. Can't they call it Soda or something? On a more random note, someone should draw red-eyed caffeine-overloaded panda bear mauling 'seo experts' wearing shirts with the DP logo. This would make my day.
Correct. It was announced on the official Google blog on november 3rd : http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/11/giving-you-fresher-more-recent-search.html
Yes, Google has rolled out freshness algorithm which is supposedly an update of Caffeine update. According to Google’s representative, this algorithm tend to display the fresh results for recurring events. This may impact in a huge way in some niches but many of niches are unaffected with this.
Not exactly. Its about ALL information in general. If google did this right, it would really destroy wikipedia as there information is not correct or updated as all even though they are ranked 1st everywhere you see.
The new algorithm only affects searches where fresh information is desired. http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/11/giving-you-fresher-more-recent-search.html
