$35 logo/mascot contest

I'm about to start up my web hosting company called Marswebcreations.com. (Mars as in Mars the planet).

I would like A mascot/logo that maybe included an alien/martian, the planet mars and the words "Mars Web Creations" or "MarsWebCreations.com".

It doesn't have to include all three above but here are some possible combination's:

• Alien and MarsWebCreations.com
• Planet and MarsWebCreations.com
• Alien and Planet and MarsWebCreations.com

If you chooses to create an alien/martian, it doesn't have to be full bodied. It can be just a head or face, but I wouldn't mind seeing full bodied ones either!

Also, you can choose any colors you want also. This is a completely new start up and currently has no identity.

The prize is $35 and will be payed via paypal.

There is no official END DATE for the contest, but I would like to declare a winner and get my site up and going by the end of the week (01/02/2009).

I PM'd a few people telling them this. I went through some past contests and if I liked the work that someone did, I asked them to submit an entry. If I didn't like their work then I just passed them over.

I don't want to waste anybodies time or efforts. If I sent you a PM then I do think you do good work and would love to see an entry.

I myself prefer version 1, maybe with some small addons like a shiny gradient. I do think that you, Mike, as a contest holder can benefit all of us and yourself by giving direct feedback on everything you like or don't like so we could create something that is exactly to your taste.

 

to Creations4You and F33l1ngz:I think I want to stay away from the Alien look.

Also after receiving a few entries on here and a few via PM, I think I would like a softer or more cartoony look.

Mind showing those PM entries to help the creativity? I think it's only fair, and in the end will also help you get a better logo if more designers know what you like.

Tightwad: I really like the planet! Good Job. Not a fan of the arrows around it or the lettering.

F33l1ngz: The lettering is better! But still not liking the alien look.

To all:

I like the colors and or logos used below. I really like the colors and technique for the flame used by phyza and James. I like the friendly robot by plugzzz. I also like the colors and technique used for the logos done by lizzy4 below.



I want to stay away from the traditional alien look. maybe something with a more rounded head or at least some real eyeballs. Something that has some personality maybe.
