Contest $35 Logo for Writing Service Website - 72 Hours Instant PayPal - Clear Instructions

Hello fellow designers!

I need a new logo for a client that offers content writing services (mainly writes blog posts for customers).

• Winner will be chosen and money sent to PayPal after 72 hours (ends on Saturday same time as this post).
• Logo needs to be professional and clean, but otherwise, you can be as creative as you like.
• Here's the client's name: https://pasteboard.co/HHQEetc.png
• The word "Pit" in the client's name means "Hole", so the name essentially means "hole filled with content". You can use this creatively as long as the logo remains clean and professional. This is not a requirement, just giving you some ideas.
• And here's the website's color palette/theme inspired from the desert because of the "Pit" word in the name: https://dribbble.com/shots/3851109-Desert-Wanderer (scroll down after the image to the right you'll see the palette).
• Logo should be original and should not use clip art or stock elements.

@collegerut I like the font and colors, but I'm not sure about the icon.
@e-mail2u Thanks but that's a bit far from what I'm looking for. The gradient makes the logo look a bit dated and the warping is not easy on the eyes.
@3SS Nice, but the broken pencil may not be the best icon. A broken pencil isn't very positive as an icon/logo for a content writing service.

Looking forward to more submissions. Another idea might actually be to play with the letters "C" and "P" somehow to form the icon. Or, maybe make one or more of the letters in the shape of a "hole" or a "pit" somehow like this and this. I'm open to all ideas that match the requirements above though, so please keep the designs coming and I will make sure to provide quick feedback

@logos4all Your entries are really good, especially the first one. If you have other concepts in mind that you'd like to add please do.
@puttu The first design is good in terms of colors and simplicity, but I think the idea of the concept could be better. Please feel free to submit more concepts.
@divineworld Good effort but I don't really like the concept of the first design, the second design is really complex and too much is going on.
@technoguy The gradient gives a dated look and the pencil + "pit" executed in this way doesn't look very good.
@jeproox @galalogo @jokomamamita Thank you for the effort, but I don't like the concepts. Clean looking designs with limited elements and without too much going on is what we're aiming for.
@Mcillustartor Sorry the colors don't look good and I don't really like the concept.
@getdomain4u Thanks for the effort but I'm not looking for cartoon designs, feel free to submit alternative entries.
@collegerut Good effort but the icon is a little too complex with too much going on for my liking. If it could be simplified or an alternative logo is made, that would be great.
