I'm in need of a logo for a gay man hostel in london. The hostel is clean, modern, low-budget and friendly, with a straightforward attitude. The logo should be very readable and clear, yet appeal to the gay community - something strong and masculine with a kinda fun, young and international feeling. I haven't decided on a color scheme yet for the site, so please make it universal and good on both light and dark backgrounds. the wording on the logo should be Gay Hostel Victoria or Gay Hostel with Victoria in small underneth. current site: gayhostel.co.uk End: I will be watching closely, once I see something that I like I will let you know and give a final 24 hours for entrants. So get your designs in quick
Sorry if this offends anyone but none of the entries above can be classified as 'logo'. You all should take basic logo classes I suggest.
I have no idea what you think qualifies you as the expert on logo design here shinan but perhaps you should keep your opinions to yourself and dazzle us with what a logo should be instead?! Due to the fact that your last four posts before this one were also insulting and that by all accounts you seem to be a 16-year old teenager crying out for attention, I highly doubt you are the expert you claim to be, not even old enough to have studied advanced level art, never mind a degree in design, and certainly not enough to come in here and start trying to throw your weight around. Maybe it is you who needs social etiquette classes... Randomly insulting people's work that you have no vested interest in and that quite frankly has nothing to do with you is out of line. Period. From what I've seen, pretty much everyone here on DP (yourself included) is churning out logos for a few bucks a pop. The clients don't have big budgets, and professional designers like myself and lots of others on DP are happy to spend a couple hours on a logo for a small fee (or prize in this case). These are not big budget logotypes where 4-5 days can be spent on brainstorming and concepts alone, neither does the fee justify days of hand lettering and tweaks to perfection, and most of the logos from DP are simply going on websites and have no need to accomodate print constraints. They are good for what they are needed for, and that's that.
Tried to keep it clean and straight (no pun intended) like something one could actually imagine as a sign outside a hotel (that´s also readable at night from a distance.)
