Hi everyone My first post here for a contest, just wanted to say there are some great designers submitting ideas - hopefully you'll all want to submit something for me as well OK, here's what I'm after - I'm going to start making some personalised canvas prints as a small business with my wife. Hopefully it'll make a bit of money so she doesn't have to go back to work after having our kids! The sort of things we will be doing are like on these sites here: CanvasPicture CanvasTown We have three young kids and want to use the family 'story' as part of the business so I'm wondering if a logo can be designed to include this somehow. We have registered CanvasCrew.com as our domain name and am looking for either: a) just the text CanvasCrew.com in graffiti style font b) CanvasCrew.com text in graffiti style with an image of "graffiti artists" designed within the logo. This would mean adding in two adult sized people (man and woman if possible) and 3 kids (they are ages 6,4 and 16months) so it would be brilliant if a design could reflect these in terms of the kids sizes/baby. I'm not really sure how this would be incorporated, maybe have the people within the text somehow, using spray cans to color the logo in or similar?? I suspect that maybe it will be too hard to achieve this, so just the text design (option a) is most likely to work. I will pay (via PayPal) $35 for a text design or $75 for a design which includes the images (if deemed the best design). There are some god looking graffiti fonts here Graffiti Fonts I prefer the bigger, chunkier fonts such as 08Underground, Fat Tip, Jungle Life, Subway etc but am open to any design with any fonts if you feel it works better. Other thoughts we've had are: Would like it to be Web 2.0 style design (Maybe, not essential) Do not have any specific color requirements although I suppose it would be best for it to work well on a white background as I will need to use it offline as well on actual printed materials (so should still look OK in black and white) Would appreciate the source files being provide so I can make any small amendments later on As I need to use this offline I need to be able to resize it easily and maintain a decent level of quality - please can files be provided in a format that will allow this (Vector???) Upon selection and payment, full rights for the logo and icons will belong to us and the designer will agree not to distribute, sell or republish this logo elsewhere without permission. Please post designs in forum - PM is of course acceptable if preferred but it would be nice to be able to make comparisons easily, side by side in the forum topic. Hi Mac/NightVision Great to hear from you both, thanks a lot for the first design Nightvision - much appreciated. I'm looking for something different to what you have done though really. I have just uploaded a page with some example graphics that I have found around the internet which should give a little more insight. You can see it by clicking here If the characters are included on the design I'd like them to be more 'cartoony', like sketches I suppose. In the link above there are some images of 'real' graffiti as opposed to fonts that I have found and some cartoon type characters. As I said before though, maybe I am asking too much for $75 and also to fit this kind of thing into a logo - if so, then just a design with the CanvasCrew.com text would be OK! I hope this helps a bit - please of course feel free to submit another design - thanks again for starting things off, I appreciate it Thanks Phil P.S. As I said before though, if anyone feels that they could do something 'different' to what I have outlined - if you feel it would work well, feel free to submit it - I'm totaly flexible on what it looks like, I'm just trying to put some ideas forward to make it easier.

If I didn't already know that it is CanvasCrew.com I don't think I would be able to work it out. Thanks Swordbeater - I appreciate you entering and offering your design for just $5 but I am hoping for soemthing a little more 'elaborate' or 'advance' than what you have done - it's better tha what I could do myself but not really what I'm looking for Thanks again though Phil
Hi JBoo14 Thanks very much - what you have done is pretty good but it doesn't jump out out me and make me think WOW which is what I'm really hoping for. I like the idea, and would like to maybe see it developed a little further maybe (assuming you are OK to make amendments?) If so, would it be possible to maybe have a character of some sort holding a spray can and rather than the background have the different colors the CanvasCrew look like has been sprayed using different colored paints. if not a character a different spray can, I'm not keen on that one although the idea is good. Then maybe the background would be toned down using grays perhaps? Can the font be made wider/fatter? Also, could you add .com onto the design, maybe in a smaller sized font and rotated 90 degree clockwise at the end of the CanvasCrew text. I think more web 2.0 would probably suit your design also Many thanks Phil
Thank you for such in depth feedback, I will start making changes right away. As far as the character, would it need to be custom or could I use a royalty free clipart image? I will submit revisions soon!
I don't really have any issues with royalty free clipart as long as it is OK to use commercially If it fits the design OK then I'm not fussy about uniqueness! Thanks!
Hi Ariestoteles Great I admire a lot of your designs in the other contests, you produce some good stuff that stands out from the crowd a lot of the time (no offence intended to any other designers, it's just an observation I've made when looking at other contests) This is a great place with lots of really talented people - I wish I'd found it a long time ago...
