    Hi Guys,

Do you think that in a keyword competition against say 10 million results.

Would a 35 page indexed website stand a chance against sites that have thousands of pages indexed??? How much does page indexation influence SERP is probably what Im asking???

    Cheers,

A site with thousands of more pages would have more quality content (generally) and would probably list better in SERPs, it does come down a lot to the amount of backlinks and the anchor text used in those backlinks.

I think that pages are probably ranked on their own merit,

However, consistency of content across the whole site probably is a good signal to the SE.

Based on what i've observed, the number of pages a site has does not always impact directly on the positioning of individual pages for any particular query.

However, it the larger sites would naturally invite more links, simply because they have more content that people want to link to,

I think that all you can do is build the best site you possibly can, then market it well

It definitely does. First reason is Google will show your page based on the ranking of the page for the keyword searched. If you can build good amount of backlinks, as well as good inpage SEO you will have a better chance to be on the first page.

Search volume not always reflect the competition. If there are not many high quality sites competing, then your chances are better if you have a good site.

Thanks guys...thing is...I dont really want to add and repetitive *fluff*, unless I have to, Id rather have 37 pages that are useful and not 80 of which 50 are meaningless....if it doesnt affect negatively on the SERPS that I only have 37 then Id rather stick with my 37...

    Any other suggestions on this?

indexed pages is not important. more indexed pages will not give better serp. more indexed pages means more googlebot activity

It's all about backlinks. If you have more backlinks than your competitors, then you should be able to rank higher than them for any keyword.

beware, backlinks from low value site are worthless.

i believe even a single page of very quality content with targeted keywords is good enough. and not forget to promote your best content page on those relevant forum, web directory, social bookmarking, squidoo, etc.
