And whatever happened to prateek.mallapur's '3 hours' over a day ago???

 

Even though it is obvious youve already chosen your guys, let me leave with a feedback at least: even negative is better than not a word for the work Ive done. Or am I really invisible posting to your thread? If so I should find out how I did it and make money selling recipe of getting invisible....

 

First of all the verdict is STILL out! Anyone can still win. I am CURRENTLY caught between FOUR people: Tajio, Chemicalinck, you_love_me44 and MAYBE prateek.mallapur IF he ever submits his "three hour" follow-up from more than a day ago! But you or anyone else could win by submitting the right logo before this closes. BUT YOU havn't submitted YOUR promised follow up - even though I DID RESPOND TWICE!

To Lejka: I don't know that I really have a preference. The #1 priority is CLEAN/SIMPLE/CATCHY (all three together) I guess if an abstract symbol worked I'd love that but I'd go with a great mascot too. My guess though is that 'mascots' tend to be cartoonish, which I don't want. OK, so I prefer an abstract symbol!

But YOU never submitted your promised follow up!

And just to be sure- I like your first submission much better than your second. Simply because it is cleaner. But the carrot man just isn't right. The second one is too crowded. Too much going on like Dex23's poster/invitation. Also this is what doesn't work with Suke's and Dex23's. The image and type are out of proportion to one another but the images are also distracting rather than SIMPLY UNIQUE.

Your type for instance has a bigger "G" and then a smaller ".com" I understand what you're trying to do - make certain parts stand out- but it ends up being very disconcerting. I'm talking at a subliminal level- the eye has to keep readjusting to read it- all in an instant flash. Chemicalinck (I hope everybody is reading this!) accomplishes the same goal MUCH better - and quite sucessfully- by using color instead of different sizes. The eye catches it right away, and registers it without having to think.

But Chemicalinck's image- while also VERY VERY good isn't quite right either. Maybe the only problem is that he's focusing on "G" alone and it's more about "Sacred Spaces" ("SS"?) or it should be an abstract image instead of a letter. I'm not sure. And I thought, 'you_love_me44 is very close to something too, but his type and layout are not as good as Chemicalinck's. Chemicalinck HAS the layout and type down PERFECTLY...but he's off a bit with the symbol.... so maybe put the two of them together and IF either of them wins pay double." We'll all be happy."

But I'm NOT trying to stack the deck- I'm just trying to help them help me along. And, frankly I think it's a cool idea, that's probably never been done- at least not here....

But YOU could STILL submit the winner. And so can anyone else. If you would just listen to what I'm asking for...

It's just like any art... Once you see it you think, "That's so simple...I could have done that... ANYONE could have done that." But they can't! Sure after the fact it's obvious, but to create it from nothing, out of the blue... that's the trick.

AGAIN, I said to everyone make a grid of a bunch of logos from the world's most famous/successful companies and stick yours amongst them. HAVE YOU TRIED THIS? You should try this with EVERY LOGO YOU DO FOR ANYONE! Does it fit? Show me a bunch of logos like Apple, Motorola, Exxon, IBM, whether they are initials or symbols or both with EITHER of your submissions among them AND IF IT FITS YOU ARE THE WINNER!!!

I'm not playing favorites! I'm paying a small amount for someone -ANYONE- to just come up with a SIMPLE professional logo. Some of you guys are close, VERY close and some of you are way off. And I'm spending time with my comments, not to play God, but rather to share some insights with all of you so that even if you don't win you MIGHT learn SOMETHING useful to take away with you. And HOPEFULLY I'll get a logo in the process... Thanks,

Here is my latest entry. I have tried a much simpler approach which seems to have worked better.

Regardless of whether this is a winning entry or not, any feedback on the design and whether or not it met your criteria for what you were looking for would be GREATLY appreciated.

Wow eveyone is submitting amazing stuff. Now I have a new problem- which one. I actually feel that there are multiple acceptable choices. Tajio's first one is the better of the two. The second one the image is disproportionaly too large for the type ( and in case someone hasn't been following this thread, NO, I don't mean the size of the submitted graphic- the bigger the better.) But even if you reduce the image (or enlarge the type) it's sort of a prickly cactus and all the leaves are more appropriate to convey the 'image'. But even #2 is a beautiful logo. And, yes, it is a logo. I feel like Tajio has actually been following EVERYTHING said here about type, simplicity, etc. etc.

Flare97's is not bad either. It's actually a VERY nice leaf, very simple but placed the way it is and with the type it too is a logo. Like Tajio, he actually took the trouble to "do" something with the type to make it unique. However I'm now convinced that all lower case, started BTW, by chemicalinck, and also now used by Tajio is the way to go- with two tones. I wonder if designers -other- than say Flare97 can see the difference between the two approaches? Like if it's not your own work and you don't have to defend it, can anyone else objectively compare the overall affect of the two aproaches? (The leaf is probably a bit too large for the type BTW.)

And alovesopure77 ALSO now has a perfectly good (in fact several!) great logos. I think they work better as green on white but theyre actually ok reversed. Visually, the first two are (IMHO) better than the third. Unfortunately the first (and third) are missing "green" which is part of the name. Remember I didn't want green in the name but I used it in order to find an available domain. And I wouldn't want people typing in the wrong url because my logo doesnt have my full name...

It's also funny that lejka who wanted feedback hasn't submitted anything new but most of all prateek.mallapur's '3 hours' is soon two days ago and I can no longer guarantee I won't decalre a winner very soon- with or without him.

Isn't it way past 72 hours, I may be wrong it just may have been 2 days ...

 

It is definitely past 72 hours and I want a logo as much as everyone else wants a winner decided too. We were waiting for prateek.mallapur who flaked out and maybe lejka. I now have enough good entries to select a winner and will do so before today is out (US eastern time.)

I also have one more idea I may pose to someone working along the right lines.
