Contest $35 Contest For Logo, Business Card And Letterhead Design

    I'm looking for a logo, business card and letterhead design for a new estate management business. However, the letterhead is a plus. If you create a killer logo + business card, but can't come up with a letterhead, you can still win so don't hesitate to take part in the contest.

    The company provides estate/property management services to housing cooperatives in Finland. It'll be run by young professionals and the services will have a more modern touch than what's been customary in the business.

    Here's the Finnish name that has to be in the logo (notice the scandinavian letters):

    [IMG]

    A direct translation of the words would be "estate management wizard". You can use a wizard as a theme, but it's not a must. The winning logo can be something else just as well. I'm looking for something that looks neat but not boring. Many competitors have houses in their logos and most look really dull. The winner of this competition will probably come up with a fresh and original idea that still conveys the business of this company.

    Letters in logo can be all caps / all small letters or as above, whatever looks best. Logo can have a tagline (which will be edited in later in Finnish) but the logo has to work without any tagline inserted.

    Please post ALL entries in this thread, PM's will not be entered into the competition.

    Some additional requirements:

    - Logo has to be Original (No pre-made logos/icons modification please.. the winner won't look clip-arty).
    - Clean, professional, simple classy and memorable are good guidelines (but you have artistic freedom)
    - All images to be supplied in both Vector Image form and PSD complete with details of fonts used or a copy of fonts used (if not standard)
    - Don't use too much colors.

    - Keep in mind the logo will most likely and most often be used on a white background

    Contest rules :

    - payment will be made by Paypal.
    - Contest will end on
    Saturday, 23 February 2013 2.00 PM CET
    - Feedback will be provided on the submitted designs (No PM please) during the contest as soon as possible!

    I reserve the right not to choose a winner, but I given the quality of work I've seen here I think it's extremely unlikely. This business needs a logo soon so I have no reason not to accept and reward great designs.

    Hi, the logo is entirely created from sketch. I used star and "wand" to create the vision of wizardry. The letterhead will be submit next time to complete this branding. Hope you like it.

    Thanks trak! I've liked your work in other contests here, really professional looking stuff. This isn't bad either! And I do appreciate you creating this from sketch. If anything I feel it's a bit generic. I didn't get the wizardry theme straight by looking at the logo without looking at your explanation. I don't see a wand there, maybe that could be altered in a way that makes it more obvious while still looking stylish.

    More than a wand I tend to see a shooting star/falling star in the logo. This, in addition to meaning a meteoroid meeting the Earth's atmosphere, actually has a bit of a negative connotation at least in Finnish. It means something that shines brightly for a while but quickly disappears. For example people could say about a one-hit-wonder band that it was a "shooting star". I wouldn't want people to get that impression about this business, obviously.

    I hope this didn't put you down, since I do see potential in this. It's by no means bad, just could do with a little bit of tweaking.

    Great. What I said about the "falling star problematic" you can probably forget, maybe that's a bit far fetching. The issue is more with it being too generic and maybe a bit dull, I hate to say "clip-arty" but it could be a bit more visually appealing. The business card works much better visually than the stand alone logo. The card I actually like a fair bit.

    @Shery:
    Out of these the one in the upper middle is ok. The one below it is clean but too much, it's not appealing enough. I'm not sure about the other one either, with the arc and stuff.. doesn't click with me right away. Do you have a proposal for a business card?

    @Falloutvic:
    Thanks, but not what I'm looking for - 13 of out of 12 competitors use rooftops in their logos. The small wizardry reference is a plus but it isn't enough to save this one. It's a usable logo but I want this business to stand out from others, not blend in.

    @All others:
    Wizardry can be also be thought of in a less obvious way: think of what a wizard can do. He can do magic, heal, he's wise, etc. If you're a client of this business the service can be magically good and help to heal your property, or something like that. :) And this is represented in the logo in some way.

    If you are going with a building theme, try to make it something other than houses, because the business will be in managing bigger apartment buildings. If you can spice it up with a wizardry reference, it could also be a winner.

    @bizarotrips: Sorry, this is not leading at the moment. Can't say much else, the colors don't work, it's pretty blunt, just isn't very good. Can you come up with something else? Thanks for taking part.

    @ighy: This is quality work. I like the colors and the font. Maybe it could be a bit more creative? From a practical viewpoint, the logo could be less tall, and this could be accomplished by lowering the buildings a bit. We don't actually have that many highrises in Finland, if any (some are planned to be built though). :) So the buildings could be shorter, also I'd like to see what the logo would look like if the base on which the buildings stand was straight instead of curved, or curved the other way around. Now it looks a bit like the buildings were on a boat. What would the other side of the business card look like?

    At the moment trak's and ighy's designs are leading, with shery's in 3rd place, though it lacks the business card. Trak seems to be the only one with a complete package in the works with the letterhead. Keep up the good work, I'm thinking of adding a little bonus!

    Thanks! Actually at first I didn't notice your remark that the concept was made to look like number 1, but now that I do know, it's kind of clever.

    Thanks! I prefer the original color, but this one with the curve this way is definitely best. Just for me, could you move the buildings to the left of the text, to see if it would work that way?
