I HAVE HAD AN (AMATEURISH) GO AT MY OWN LOGO, AND NOW I NEED PROFESSIONAL INPUT BEFORE I GO TO PRINT COPY. If you PM me your email adress I can send across the Word 2010 file that has the vector images in it. Else the vector is found on Deviant Art under "homura silhouette" (I have permission to use that for a commercial logo). The font used is "Candara" but there may be better out there. I attach examples of how I will use the logo. you dont need to redesign each, I just need one concept. It doesnt need to be a radical redesign , I just want creative input on the logo, eg font, use of the image etc. I dont want to stifle creativity so stay as close or as far from the original idea as you like and I will select the best. $35 paid for best logo even if I dont go with it. It could be just a change of font or colour makes the difference. - Note this is for a UK-based Anime / Otaku store - both physical and online retail. One problem with the domain is that the "Otaku" and "UK" can be hard to read when next to each other, hence the use of gaps in the existing logo. Any design needs to continue to use gaps or colour to differentialte those words. Good Luck
Its defo better than mine. I think red works well for the logo and fits the colour theme for the store better. If you google "Ninja Joe Malaysia" on Google images - we are going for a similar look. I like the concept of the second logo better but the gun is not obvious. Not sure if a slight resize of the image might help.
On the plus... + It looks professional and striking. + The spokes are the wheel idea have nice visual effect. If the colour base were red then that would hint at the japanes flag. Could even go further with that and have an inner faded circle - to match the flag, and maybe lose the colour outer rim (I expect the black rim should stay though) - On the minus - it takes up a lot of space. I like it though
Let me say thaat I am very impressed with the quality of the work; Detailed feedback for all entries so far; Gamelord; ======= Positives: + the red-base colour theme works well (also matches the new concept of the small retail store, which will be red/white/black) + In the new version the "homura" image is more clear (gun / hair are more obvious). + I like the interaction of the homura logo / hair with the lettering in your concept. + Your suggested final versions address the feeling that homura was 'cut in half' and offer the opportunity of a tag line (otaku anime store etc) + The Otaku and UK words are distinct. Negatives: - ".com" is better to be included (most use of the logo will be on physical advertising that will try and drive people to the website) Score 7/10 Frikusha ====== Positives; + Colours are much better in red base. Thanks for the revision. + I like that the logos (3 different versions - all of which I like) are easily recognisable as the same brand. In my view, a logo that can be transformed and remain recognisable suggests a degree of maturity + The final 2 / smaller versions (where the logo 'breaks' the circle) have flair + The final variant solves the space issue, necessary for the website. That was probably the biggest concern of the first submission - now solved + I like the developing japanese flag concept. More comments there; The spokes in red now look like the Japanese flag (the highly recognisable naval ensign version). The new red "sun" helps this japanese flag concept. The offset of the sun to the left is correct for the japanese flag. This also has the effect of appearing to illuminate the homura logo. That aspects works very well, especially with the sun / rays in a faded shade. The offset to the vertical is incorrect for the Japanese flag but the concept is developed enough to carry that and I LIKE the effect as it creates a second level where the homura imaage appears to look at the sun(set). - The font has a japanese / anime feel whilst not aggressive. (some anime fonts caan be very angular / 'angry') + The Otaku and UK words are very distinct Negatives - ".com" is better to go in the logo (see above feedback to the other entry) - the sun is small whereas in the japanese flag the sun is quite large.... Now I really dont think the sun can be so large as the effects above (that I like) would not work. But I think the sun could be a little larger - what do you think? Score 9/10
I made sun little bigger, for that no prob, but having troubles with font, find only one that on my opinion looks ok but still like first better. However i will try to find more fonts. With old font and bigger sun: With new font (i removed stroke because dont look good with this font)
Frikusha - Thanks for the revisions. The bigger sun definitely better!! The font was OK. I listed the font comment under "positives" but i see i actually put a "-" infront of it by accident sorry to have confused you. I agree the first font is better. The concept is well developed now and looks good Both - I am very pleased with the work. I have to keep the contest open for the 36 hours stated
COMPETITION NOW CLOSED - thank you coolwanz for the your hiragana concept. I am considering logos for a winner
This was very hard as the entries were so good. THE CONTEST WAS FOR ALL OR NOTHING ONE WINNER...I HAVE A PROPOSAL Winner: Coolwanz. Font is the best of the group. Logo is smallest / tightest, distinct at small size. There is an 'edgy' feel to the design. The hiragana keeps the Japan theme. On the basis that I have full rights to the logo design and derivations thereof then $35 guaranteed payout won. Please PM your paypal details and the vector files and will make payment within 24 hours Second place: Frikusha. Frikusha I like your multiple designs. There are some elements of those designs I would like to incorporate into alternative versions of Coolwanz Logo (see attachment for where I am thinking). I will do that work with Coolwanz. If you are happy that I have full rights to take design cues from your logos then would you accept payment of $20 for second place? If so, please PM your paypal details and the vector files of your submission of yesterday 3.16pm and will make payment within 24 hours Third Place: Gamelord. The red colour concept was your idea. For 3rd place will pay $5. Please PM your paypal details and will make payment within 24 hours Hope all are happy with this and again thanks.
Coolwanz - when you send the files - can you please change the (R) (registered TM or whatever it is ) to a (C) in a circle (= UK copyright) ta Please include in your PM a quote for creating the alterative design above. (The white circle inside the black is still supposed to be there. This is just a rough drawing). Cheers
$35 paid to Coolwanz + $15 for further versions on the theme $5 paid to gamelord Thank you all . all 3 contestants are excellent.
