$35 1'st place logo contest $10 2nd place $5 for 3rd video game theme

I need a logo for a customer that sells mostly older video games and systems online.

The theme could represent the older style games and systems that he sells. Maybe an Atari style pixilated idea or something like that, but also keep in mind that the customer does sell newer game systems as well. So try not to be too old fashioned or be steered in the wrong direction of my suggestion.

The web address is something like www.vintage video games.com and you can try to incorporate that if you would like, but the address does not have to be in it.

    No tagline.

    Colors are up to you.

Chosen logos must be in a final psd format. The larger the better as it could be used for print later on. 300dpi for print, and 72 dpi for web as many of you already know.

Needs to be original and if I find out that it's copied after the purchase, we will contact the company that you copied the material from and give them your details. :)> Seriously though, be original or please don't waste anyone's time.

Payment will be made via paypal very promptly upon acceptance. We would like to make a decision by Monday, June 29, 2009. but may extend it if not satisfied with entries.

I'll be paying $35 USD for 1st pick, $10 USD for 2nd pick, and $5 to third pick. $50 total and you may create more than one logo and we could possibly pick all three from one or more person(s).

If the customer declines any tacky second and third place picks because of lack of entries and/or creativity, then the 1st place winner will take all $50. Sorry, but no cheezy logos will be considered and is at the discretion of the customer.

    Thanks.

Modern & Old logo all in one. Little pixelate space ship or whatever you want it to be. Seems very brandable logo IMO. :)

Not bad so far. You can also incorporate the actual name of Vintage Video Games if you would like. Maybe VVG in a creative way. Make it really pop if you can.

Here's my submission. I used a pixelated game controller with a game disk behind. I put some text in to show the effect of both logo and company name together. The logo was created in Illustrator so it can be modified and resized easily for whatever you want it for.

If you find the time to leave feedback I would love to hear it!

Edit: Oops. I see now that the format is suppose to be psd. Let me know if an Illustrator file is ok or is I should attempt to transfer the design to Photoshop. (I would recommend the ai format over psd as it is a vector format and be resized with no blurs. You can import ai files into Photoshop as smart objects, have them kept as vectors, and resize them with no blurring, though you are not able to edit the logo without Adobe Illustrator. Let me know...)

AI is fine too. Can you add a more web 2.0 look to it? Vintage could also be incorporated somehow if that inspires ideas. Maybe use part of the V V G initials of vintage video games as the remote controller or something.

Well I added gloss to the disk, controller, and text to make it appear more "web 2.0"

I also tried incorporating the VVG initials into the design but nothing turned out very good. Continuing on the "web 2.0" ingestion, should the font be a regular sans-serif font instead of the classic video game font it is now? I was also considering having the text curve around the disk or bend upward from the bottom.

Lastly, should the text be changed to Vintage Video Games or is that just another suggestion of what the filler text could be?

Nice try, but that's too vintage looking.

Let me clarify that the logo must look modern according to today's web 2.0 standards, but could also incorporate a vintage theme.

With that said, feel free to try again. :)

    Thanks

Looks more like what we are aiming for here. Nice job.

I see what you are going for with the joy stick, however, it looks a little more like a stick figure.

I'll be meeting with the customer this Friday and we will be going over the logos we have so far. I'll post his feedback as well on all the entries after we meet.

    Thanks to everyone so far.

Pretty nice and very unique logo, however, I find it hard to see the connection of the name in the actual logo. Don't count yourself out though. The site owner may actually want it.

    Looks good.

Nice logo, just not sure about the font style used.

I like the concept, but I wonder if the pacman can be made into more of a G for games. It kind of stands out as a C right now. Also, can you web 2.0 it a little more?

    looks better. thanks
