I am in need of a logo for my cruise vacation blog, "the intelligent cruiser (dot) com". The slogan is "Cruise Smart, Cruise Safe, Cruise Often". To be completely honest I have no idea what I am looking for, just that it needs to compliment the rest of the site. The logo should be submitted as a vector so that it may be resized as necessary. All entries should be posted in this forum so that there is full transparency to the contest. Participants should make sure to watermark their entries. I am also looking for starting a long term relationship with a designer and this may be a great place to start. The winner will be paid $33 via paypal at the conclusion of the contest. Hahaha, that guy copied a logo... wow... really lame... Anyway, here's my attempt... I hope you like this Web 2.0 logo . PM ME if you want some changes but like the idea. (I did watermark it) The placement of the "The" can be changed too, I wasn't sure what your preference would be.
Pranz - I don't really like it at all. It seems more like a generic banner than a brandable logo. Not to be harsh but its the kind of logo's those guys sell for 5 bucks in the BST design forum Dzt6781 - I know what you were trying to do but I am not sure you accomplished it. I don't like the font you used at all and the line you used to represent a cruise ship is too abstract for my liking. Onlyfight- This was my favorite of the bunch but its too similar to that other logo for me to even consider it Tarkan - its not terrible, but not what I am looking for, I have the feeling that I wouldn't look nearly as good against my background as it does in the submission What I need is a brandable logo that would look good not only on a website but maybe on a t-shirt or hat as well. Also don't get locked into the belief that it needs to be a cruise ship in the logo it could also be something like a captain.
Well what is your background, since you weren't specific I could not figure out what to do for you... Although my design is very brandable and web 2.0, I might try one last attempt...

Tightwad - I like what you have done. Can I see it on the same color as my background? Brandon - that is too plain for my liking. Maybe its because of the lack of background color. You could try putting it up against my background as well.
