I think we have all bought at least one of those useless ebooks on one thing or another. It is a shame.

All this reminds me of people who have stickers plastered all over their cars saying "make £1000/week part time" but yet they drive a rubbish car.

I am not in to the get rich quick type things and think that eBooks selling this are just 1 way of making the author make some cash because their other ideas didnt work.

    Matt I drive a 5 year old Saab :D

Don't have any stickers on it though ;)

Getting a 1 to 2 year old GS300 Lexus later this year though. I would never have another new car they are shite boxes that get niggly little problems and hassle with bloody dealers.

Two good reasons to do that:

    1. To make more money through ebook sale and people signging up/buying products using the authors affiliate link contained in the book.
    2. To promote their websites --> drive more traffic ---> make more money.

Which is really weird, because eBooks tend to be more expensive than printed books -- and harder to read.

Yea, I made $4 2 days ago. I'd be happy if I could make that consistently...and then build on it.

Anyone who is making $33,000 per month should be smart enough to know that giving people exact copies of their money-making website is stupid for multiple reasons, duplicate content being one.

The people who won't give you details about their websites are the ones you should watch.

LOL, yeah, and that's straight out of Scientific Advertising, a book written before the internet existed.

These sites are made to make money. The guy is obviously showing himself to be an adsense guru and not earning that much money.

    Yeah, but...

The problem with these things is that they demand that we trust their claims. Look at the above quote. The name "Joel" is thrown out like we are expected to know who he is. The claim of making "$25K-$35K" is completely unsubstantiated. How do we know "Joel" is making this much money? Because gcarlson says so? Excuse me for reading this and thinking "Why should I believe any of this?"

    Yeah, but...

How do you "prove" yourself? Why can't ANYONE just simply announce "I make $xxK a month with AdSense" - and who is anyone to contradict that statement?

What if someone making $25 a month with AdSense decided to claim they were making $25K a month? And then sold an eBook describing the techniques that did not make them any money? How are we to know?

Nice. Tell us a story. Draw us in. What's next, are you going to sell us something?

Ah. here it is. He's selling us something.

This is the same marketing theme I've seen with every "make money with the Internet" pitch:
    1. Tell them what you bought,
    2. Pace the skepticism,
    3. Finally, pace the buying decision ("I finally made up my mind...")

Translation: "Trust me, I'm selling you something, I wouldn't blatantly lie to you!"
    Let me make this simple:

Any "Make Money with the Internet" book that doesn't teach you how to write in a compelling and engaging manner that keeps your viewers rivited to the page, isn't going to be of any practical value. That's because the hawkers of these eBooks use their best techniques in their sales pitches. And they never, ever teach you those techniques, do they?.

I wouldn't agree with that... Saying that affiliate programs doesn't work is a nonsense... First of all, in both cases (affiliate program vs. AdSense) you need to create good and useful sites... if you spend a lot of time on developing your website and make it user friendly you can make CTR of even 1:10 (with affiliate programs that pays $100 or more per sale that's a lot of money), while on the other side you are losing the same amount of time to build a website that will earn few buck per click the most and CTR of visitors:clickers can't be any better... even if you have 1:1 ratio, you are losing money...
I know people who are making five figures per month with affiliate programs... I'm not there yet but I'm making solid four figures per month from affiliate programs...

I totally agree with this opinion. Those who doesn't earn many tend to write E-books! excluding some cases like Problogger etc.,:)
