I've got a special offer. You will notice at Squidoo the top left hand squidoo logo throughout the site links straight back to the Explore page (PR6). This is linked to from from every lens (120,000+) on the site. The Top Lenses (the ones in the left hand column) are drawn from a pool. It is my job for the month of May (among other tasks) as a "Citizen Squid" to add (and also remove) lens in the pool. I thought I'd come to the Squidoo Lensmasters here at DigitalPoint to put forward their best lenses for a chance to be added to this pool. I have been told that the criteria, other than being quality of course, is... * You must have an intro image. * No R rated or X rated lenses. I'll add to that what I'll be looking for before I forward on the finalists for the other three Citizen Squids is... * Be sure to have a good mix of content (if it only consists of affiliate modules then it will be culled in the first pass). * Have at least four modules (not including the introduction module). See here for the reason why. * Make sure you have an image in your bio pic, as well as your Bio being filled out. Depending on how many excellent submissions I get I may whittle it down to three and then put it forward to my fellow Citizen Squids (there four of us) to pick one. However... if there are PLENTY of submissions I may double the finalists and TRIPLE the winners. So I'll select 6 of the best and the others will pick 3 from the best of the best to include. How long will you stay in the pool? That will depend on just how good your lens is. Next months chosen Citizen Squids may remove it, or they may not. But I'm pretty sure you'll get at least a months worth of random rotation on the Explore page. Entries close 14th May. So... who's in?
I would like to be considered for this. The lens is : http://www.squidoo.com/chincoteague-island/ Thanks for your hard work over there. Squidoo is a really worthwhile site I think.
Okay, I'll throw my hat into the circle! Here are my five best: (sorry for submitting so many, but I couldn't chose!) http://www.squidoo.com/birthdaypartiesforkids/ http://www.squidoo.com/lostpets/ http://www.squidoo.com/homesforsalebyowner/ (LOTD recipient) http://www.squidoo.com/petclassifieds/ http://www.squidoo.com/noveltypillows/ Thanks for your consideration! Janet
I'll give this a try. I've only been really focusing on this for a few weeks so here's what I feel are my two best lenses. http://www.squidoo.com/milwaukee-brewers/ http://www.squidoo.com/planet-earth-discovery-channel/ I'm loving this whole Squidoo thing so far and looking forward to creating more.
OK, here are few of mine: http://www.squidoo.com/weddingspeechestoasts/ http://www.squidoo.com/freeweddingtoasts/ http://www.squidoo.com/eulogyspeeches/
I throw my hat (or hats as the case may be) into the ring as well... Here are two work related lenses... http://www.squidoo.com/fishing-bloopers http://www.squidoo.com/game-cameras And here are two others I have been working on at home in my spare time... http://www.squidoo.com/schoolhouserock http://www.squidoo.com/nick-drake Thank you! -PRADCO
An intro image? How about: http://www.squidoo.com/kidsrpg/ or http://www.squidoo.com/seattlemyth/ It's amazing how few of my lenses actually have intro images! Out of the two above, the Roleplaying with Kids one was the first I'd created and the one I'm still most proud of. The poor lens was up to lensrank 500 at one point, but has been dropping steadily ever since. Jay
I see you've got some. To explain it a little better for people who don't have one, if there is no intro image (you just upload it when you fill your intro module) it will show as the squid mystery default image. Which the Editor-In-Chief doesn't want to see on the Explore page. If anyone needs some royalty-free images that can be used in Squidoo lenses check out this lens: http://www.squidoo.com/royalty-free/
My best and most useful lens: http://www.squidoo.com/merchantaccounts/ My most entertaining lens: http://www.squidoo.com/whydidthechickencrosstheroad/ There are others, but these are the two I'm most proud of. All the best, Riatsala
I added an intro picture to another lens I'm particularly proud of, so please consider it as well: http://www.squidoo.com/gamemaking/ Thanks, Jay
Tomorrow I'll come along and make a list of all the pages and then have a look and narrow it down to 6 finalists. So between now and then if there's anyone else, post your link!
Okay, I'm going to go make a list of the submitted lenses and then check out each one. So I won't be accepting any more after this post is made. May the best lenses win!
