will 301 redirects from many domains( having backlinks) to a new domain will give additional PR( pagerank) e.g.- 301 redirect from a.com to --> z.com 301 redirect from b.com to --> z.com 301 redirect from c.com to --> z.com will z.com will get any pr if a.com, b.com, c.com has many backlinks to a.com, b.com, c.com respectively
As per my knowledge I don't think that you will get any benefit of such redirection. The site and domain is completely new in terms of search engine. I suggest to wait for others review.
i can say yes for this. 301 will gain PR as well as the weightage for new domain, but it takes time(nearly couple of months) to transfer all the weight-age to new domain. As far as i am considered. Let's wait for more answers from members too.
301 redirect from a.com to --> z.com 301 redirect from b.com to --> z.com 301 redirect from c.com to --> z.com then all your abc will have same PR as Z It might give z a PR advantage on link, because 301 pass link juice
The last version I heard was that Google bleeds out a percentage of the PR pass-along from a 301, rendering a 301 essentially the same effect on "z.com" as posting a single link to the site on an otherwise empty page.
Yes, it is really helpful to regain PageRank with 301 redirect strategy. Of course, you can't gain the whole value.
Thanks for all your replies My z.com is around 4 years old (and has many-many backlinks around 21,000-yahoo site explorer) around 6-7 months back I had purchased 3 dropped domains having links in many directories(1000back links total) under the relevant categories that of my z.com (jewelry) and I have put 301 redirect in all of them to z.com, It has passed around 6 months ( 2 times Pagerank have been updated during this period) Now what I see is that my z.com has same pagerank 3 - no update . But my a.com, b.com and c.com are showing PR4 ( more than that of z.com) -------------------- why a.com, b.com, c.com are showing more pagerank than of z.com
