I have a site, 1 year old, PR3, and struggling to make it in the SERPS. Say I buy a website, 5 years old same niche with a 1500 backlinks and simply 301 Redirect this site to my new website. Will this send flags to google, or will I be safe with this?
Saying you have an old site A and bought a site B recently,so what do you want to do? Redirect A to B? 301 Moved Permanently - The file has been moved permanently to a new location. This is the preferred method of redirecting for most pages or websites. If you are going to move an entire site to a new location you may want to test moving a file or folder first, and then if that ranks well you may want to proceed with moving the entire site. Depending on your site authority and crawl frequency it may take anywhere from a few days to a month or so for the 301 redirect to be picked up.
redirect A to B what is happening is i have a hunch my competition isnt going to renew their website for feb-02-2007 (hence their homepage has been blank for several months). say on feb2 they dont renew and i grab it up. now i have this domain with PR. Does google null the backlinks because it was an expired domain, or do the backlinks still hold value even after it has expirerd
