Any one know much about 301 redirect, I want to get a new domain and I hear that using a 301 redirect will pass all my page rank, backlinks, and anchor text so i won't lose serps. (not to much anyways)

Any one know much about this, or have possibly experienced with this?

I heard that 301 and 302 (temp or perm) redirect are used when moving but they wont pass you their PR (they will pass you traffic).

Never touch a 302, use a 301, you wont transfer your pagerank or backlinks but as already said you will keep most of your traffic so it is your job to get promoting your site again.

We did a 301 redirects on thousands of our pages and it's the safest way to redirect your pages specially if you're already getting a good traffic on the old ones.

You can PM me if you need more info about this or read detailed info on how to setup 301 redirects here: http://www.gnc-web-creations.com/301-redirect.htm

I promise you that a 301 will not pass on your PR, it is to tell search engines where to find your content which you have moved and therefore it is a great help on retaining your PR on the next update but you still wont keep it if you don't promote it as much as the previous domain.

I found that using a 301 was affecting my serp in long term.

    I had a 301 from / to /content

Since I moved all from /content to / I SERP way better.
